I am pretty sure Lloris will make a full recovery and wish him all the best on that front.

But my question is : Do we need another number 1 goal keeper?

Personally I feel we do.

I have bypassed a lot of Lloris faults because he normally gives us credit however it's now got to a point whereby imoLloris is not at all learning from his mistakes, worse still they tend to happen on the biggest stages most important moments when you need your keeper to be a wall of strengh .

Strength - used to be outstanding at the sweeper keeper role before we changed our tactics.

Weaknesses - crosses, close shots and kicking.

He’s shown no signs of improving on his weaknesses and given his age he’s not going to get any better. Time to replace him... need someone who can command his area. I hate it when we put crosses in and the opposition keepers consistently catch the majority of our crosses. Whereas as when balls are played into our box Lloris shits his pants more times than not.

The kicking is one thing...for me before we have important games I find myself hoping Lloris doesn't mess up. I've lost my confidence in him....

I remember I didn't have confidence in him whenever we conceded penalties back in the day he proved me wrong last season.

Albeit a different position, look at Lennon... very inconsistent with his end product but his lightening pace meant he was always a threat. Now that he’s lost this his career has ground to a halt. Whereas with Lloris he was superb at the sweeper keeper position and due to our solid central midfield and defence he was often only sparingly called into action. Whereas now he’s exposed and lacks the qualities needed to be a high profile keeper. It’s the same with Vorm and Gazzaniga, lump the ball into the box and you’re praying they get something on it never mind catch it. Look at Cech (prime), Ederson, Allison, Courtois... they command their area like goalkeepers should, ours don’t.

I hope the reason he's being nominated isn't because they know something we don't know (like his career being over as a result of that arm injury).

He was essential for our CL run last season... if we had won it, Hugo Lloris would certainly have a strong claim for the balon d’or.

Does he get a nomination for 'Green Flag Driver of the Year' as well? Would make an equal amount of sense as the Ballon D'or nomination.

Assuming Lloris will fully recover, and who knows at this point, I'd hold off any thoughts of replacing him until there is newfound longterm stability around who is manager.
In other words, were Pochettino to be replaced, I'd be keen to see what new tactics could mean for Lloris and his perceived faults.

Lloris has always been close to poch and said his future relies on the manager, so who knows, if poch goes Hugo may be following
