Yep. Can we all just agree that a new no.1 is about as far from a priority for this summer as it could get?

No.2 gk maybe, yes.

Considering our lack of players at fullback and stagnant squad even Gazza is a decent enough player to not need replacing just yet imo

anyone else noticed he's doing a lot more interviews than before? maybe it's me just not noticing them before but it's been great to hear more from him, especially as club captain

If Jose's staff can coach a bit of confidence and coach out the titting about, we'll have two excellent keepers.

Credit where credit's due, he's probably been the best keeper in the league since the restart and he's really set an example.

Yep if this carries into next season this might just be his peak he has been flawless so far but also tbh he’s not playing sweeper keeper or playing out from the back anymore so all his flaws are mitigated!
100% mate hes been brill and think he suits Jose style much more than poch

We have one, and it's him? Who are you implying we have that is already an excellent 'keeper that Hugo might be able to reach the level of? If it's Gazzaniga I'm 100% done.

I meant that both of our keepers, pre-Mourinho, had obvious weaknesses. If they can coach out Hugo's long term weaknesses, then hopefully they can do (or are doing) wonders for Gazzaniga, too.

haha, remember when people here were saying Hugo's career was done after his elbow injury (or, better said, fans wanting it to be done after said injury)?

Hugo has been brilliant since the restart - credit where due.

But let's not forget he's still very much capable of making personal errors, which will cost us.

What I will say though is I think appointing Mourinho may have been a good thing for Hugo. Seems like sometimes he needed a kick up the arse.. Or just that Mourinho has a totally different mentality and personality than Poch, which might have been good on the frenchmen.

What was your assessment of DDG two years ago?

Obviously Lloris will make errors again, but the way he has bounced back is nothing short of brilliant in my opinion. And he looks as sharp as ever on those reaction saves. I was expecting him to start slowing down, but now I could see him staying at the top of his game for several more seasons.

Well played hugo. That game could have easily gone down a different path.
