All season people have been happily been dissing it but when there's rumours of a bid from City they don't want him to leave
Ive never wanted him to leave as I believe he's been a tough situation all year, playing a role that doesn't get the best out of him. Hoejbjerg alongside him should give him a better springboard. Also he's Tottenham, you could say that about KWP and others we sold but I believe Winks has shown his worth much more previously. He's a decent player to have in the team and squad.

Ah yes the old replace the player with a player who plays a different role and costs twice as much. Splendid

We already bought hojberg, jose might see lo celso at number 8 , we already need another playmaker even with lo celso at 10 and winks at 8

We also need 4 club homegrown players so for next season that would be Kane and 3rd choice keeper(?)

I get what people are saying about HG quota but if we were to sign aarons and wilson for example then that would help balance it out. Considering we have youngsters such as Tanganga and Cirkin then its not too much of an issue. Ndombele has a part to play in this as if he actually found his motivation winks would be 4th/5th choice it depends as i think on a lot of situations sissoko would edge him. So 40m+ for potentially our 5th choice CM is too good to turn down in the current climate. Esp as spending 50m could arguably get wilson brooks and aarons. So you get 3 HG players for the cost of 10m which would make our summer business look very shrewd as improved the squad at a net spend of around 15m. Also brought in 3 HG players in positions we need. If we need money sometimes got to make a sacrifice or 2. There are Players higher up in my sell list however i doubt we would get suitable offers for them. Thanks for the memories and bossing a midfield in a group game against the eventual winners but i wouldn't lose any sleep over him going.

Not all people! I've rated him very highly ever since his debut.

If anything, signing PEH should help Winks to excel - as long as he gets to play. I do think he's more suited to playing with a proper CDM, rather than as the deepest CM. Dier was playing CDM for his lauded performance against Real Madrid, whereas a week earlier, when he was decent but far less impressive, he was instead playing alongside Sissoko.

Winks will become a star under Pep-no doubt. At same time, cant see him in XI for us next season week in week out. Do what Liverpool did - sell couple of players for good money and reinvest properly.

Not sure we can sell Ndombele for 40m which we paid. Lets say we accept a 30-33m for him with Lamela sold for another 12m.

Use that 85m to fund, say Neves (50m), Ricardo (35m) and cancel Skipp loan - we improve the XI and squad massively.

I like winks tbh ... I think the criticism towards winks is not justified ... He is a proper number 8 midfielder but we have played him in number 6 and with a system that is not based on his strengths... I would still not sell winks for 40m unless the money we get can cover the fees of someone like grealish ... Personally I always see grealish as number 8/deep lying midfielder rather than the position he is playing at villa now ... I think in top 6 clubs, grealish wont get to play in wings or number 10 role ...

Winks out, grealish in would be my preference as the way we are playing, grealish would suit at number 8 more than winks ... But I will also be okay if winks stays here and works hard, tweaks his game slightly to get into the midfield of jose mourinho ... I think if winks can mould him into someone like fabregas style, Jose would surely give him game time...

Always liked winks and his attitude ... Hope we will find resolution which will help both spurs and winks in the long term ...

Reach out to Grealish's agent and find out if he'd join us. If he will, then we should sell Winksy for 40 mio. This isn't going to be true, but that's too much money to turn down for Winks.

If we sell Winks for 40m, put another 10m and go for Neves than Grealish. He will give us the much needed dynamism from middle of the park.

If we get Neves, off the ball runners like Dele & Son will be even more potent. Neves also brings in goals to his games and good free kick ability which we are just shit at present. Grealish is a good player - but I really doubt he will fit Mourinho style. Neves will be made for Mourinho.

I’d probably take that and replace him with Skipp. Still, foreign player numbers will be a worry with Levy asking for premium prices for deadwood.

Aarons and Wilson would only balance out the departures of two HG players. KWP has been sold, with Skipp and Parrott loaned out - that's three players to replace if we want a full squad (we're about to play 9 games in 20 days, so depth is essential).

PEH has filled Vertonghen's non-HG spot in the squad.

Rose is expected to leave and there's talk of Sessegnon going out on loan. Foyth is eligible for the 'B list' for UEFA competitions, but he could be leaving too.

Replace him with the guy we've just loaned out for the season...how does that work exactly? It would leave the squad one CM and two HG players lighter than when the transfer window opened.

Where’s the official news we’ve loaned out Skipp?

Take the offer and run. Winks is not worth that much. He doesnt do anything particular well but make short safe passes.
