Winks was good ??!!! We’ll continue to struggle because our fans accept bang average players

Yep categorically the reason Spurs as a football club fail is because a person on a forum has a different opinion to you which you can't even contend to debate with a reasonable argument.

Winks was fine up until the moment we started losing then it was his fault and we were rubbish again.

Rinse repeat for all player threads.

He's just a warm body in the centre of the field even up to us scoring the first goal. That's that. He offers nothing. When he is expected of something, he offers nothing.

Made you think winks played well today I’m not wasting my time debating with someone with such a lack of football knowledge ?

Well stop quoting me so I can focus on mourning the loss of the insight I'd have got from your wisdom which you consistently fail to show.

He was doing his job, no one complained about him until I think it was 2-2 and he miss hit a long pass - 3rd goal goes in, boom, he's shit and it's partly his fault ...

Same as Dele, same as Aurier same, same, same ...

He wasn't at his best today but he is far from our worst problem. To be fair, he did move the ball forward more quickly today.

There was no difference between him and Lo Celso. Both did alright to start with, both were given little help by us playing effectively 5-2-3 and had to cover vast impossible ground across the pitch, both started to struggle when Wolves brought their inside forwards (particularly Traore) infield in the second half and started to work the ball in behind them via overloads. Both had no chance of catching him when that had happened.

Don't see why you bump one thread, but not the other, actually I do - one is the easy option.

Don't think having the captaincy helped him today. Perhaps too much responsibility, and seemed to revert back to the player who looks like he's playing for his place every game. Everything is too safe, and he's better than that.
I can't blame him defensively, they were all pretty fucking awful at that.

Let's not play the blame game. Winks was captain today for the first time a great achievement for a youth player.

Wolves were better today and deserved the win. I hope ou club is working hard behind the scenes identifying players so that when the window opens we move swiftly

2nd goal is totally on him appalling play. We are 2-1 up and for some mad reason he rushes out of position to try and close down one of their CB from 30 yards away. He’s got absolutely no chance of getting there and just leaves a massive hole for Traore to run into and basically gives Tanganga no chance running at him at full steam. If winks just stayed in position 2nd goal never happens really really awful.

I don't think he's should be a regular starter in a top club. But he's still a valuable squad player. The real problem is that we don't have a defensive midfielder/central midfielder with defensive skills. The opponents can just play a simple ball and our midfield is gone. The opponents can run past our central midfielders without problems. If we had a Fabinho next to Ndombele/Winks or Lo Celso, it would look much better and players like Winks would play much better.

Nothing more than a squad player to be honest. Similar to back end of last season, gets in by default due to Ndombele looking like he'd struggle in a veterans game, Sissoko's injury and fact we haven't got a proper DM. Offers us no control in midfield at all. Maybe with 2 quality players with him, they could somewhat carry him and he'd look better but he is out of his depth if asked to step up and be one of the main men.

Fuck me he was terrible tonight, even with a pure DM besides him.

Even against the worst side in the league he can't put in a decent performance.

Squad player that is all he will ever be. Sell in the summer if a stupid offer comes in.

Think it's better if he is moved on. I don't see him being content being a squad player at us so best he moves. Could be a handy player for a Palace or Bournemouth. Confident Skipp can come in and as a minimum offer what Winks does given game time with difference being Skipp is 19 and Winks is 24. Filed Winks under Townsend, Livermore, Mason, Carroll etc a while ago.
