First Spurs player to ever be younger than me. This is weird. How do you lot deal with it?
I remember when John Bostock got his debut. He's a four months older than me, but that was weird as shit.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Winks get his debut. I've heard a lot of good things about him, so I'm thrilled to see what he hopefully can bring to the table in the years to come.

Gary Cahill was born on the exact same day as me, same year and everything. He looks old enough to be my dad.

I can't get over the fact that I'm older than Charlie Adam. He looks old enough to be my grandad.

I just checked to see with whom I shared the exact same birthday with, only to find out it's Chris bloody Smalling.

At least you can say you're a better footballer than the one you share a birthday with then.

Not enough time to get a feel of what kind of player he is..... what's his usual position, is he a defensive, box-to-box or attacking midfielder?

He's a two footed Tom Carroll who is probably a bit more box to box, in the sense he can do more of a job defensively and get forward better, more mobile and tenacious

That's excellent. Although for the time being, I wouldn't mind seeing him try to get his minutes at CAM to try and push Eriksen a bit.

hope he gets the start in turkey and the club brings a benchful of the youth along with them be a great experience in a relatively meaningless game, as i dont care who we get next the harder the competition the better the tie

It's going to be hard for Carroll to make a career with us isn't it? We already have Bentaleb and Mason ahead of him. Now we have Winks and Onomah trying to break through too.

This mornings' Times were saying UEFA may dock us points for those effing idiots coming on the pitch on Thursday - and the decision as to the price the club will have to pay will only be announced on the day of the game in Turkey.

May not be meaningless at all.

Oh Jesus that is well beyond excessive. I think a fine is reasonable as everyone and their mum knows that'll catch Levy's attention and make him hurt, but deduction of points is well over the top.

As is, it's not a meaningless game anyway considering we're playing to win the group, which is significant considering you're far less likely to face a CL dropdown team upon doing so. As CL dropdown teams have won the tournament every year but two (including last year's) every year in the current format, I'd say that's significant reasoning enough to try and win the group.

As excited as I am for Winks to come through, I think this would be a dodgy one for him to start in. Playing in Istanbul is utter madness, and they're no less merciful with English teams than any other. I'm all for baptisms of fire, but this one would be baptism in the seventh layer of hell, and I fear as excessive as deducting us points for poor security.

Good point-but if the tie is a dead rubber-what the heck? it will learn him up proper.

Football is his bread and butter though.

He's pretty good on the ball, but he kneads to spread it around a bit better instead of loafing about so much. If he can raise his game then he'll start making some real dough.

Some half-baked puns in there...

I was a little sour over the crumby amount of time he got to play against Partizan...IMO not much could have gone awrye

He could have come on for paulinho earlier. It's not like he was doing anything different from normal.
