Admittedly only caught the last 30 but thought he was excellent. When we started to improve he was at the heart of almost everything.

Winks was more than good he was superb as well as being tireless and his range of passing left and right foot was really something .
I think the naysayers may not have been watching him as closely as I was he was my MOM

Another one who gets stick all the time but is putting in the hard yards for the shirt, another quality game from Harry and Jose would be a brave man to drop him at the moment...

Thought he was really good. Had to do most of Dier’s running for most of the match and still had the energy to drive us forward towards the end.

After the shift he put in on Sunday, I thought he was outstanding tonight, having to do the work of about 3 for over an hour. Great effort

Winks was excellent today. Showing he could be on his way back. He showed so much class to get out of tight spots and find a pass. Also broke up play well.

Playing in midfield next to Dier is fucking difficult. He offers no help whatsoever, doesn’t break up play or want the ball.

Anyone thinking Winks won’t be part of Jose’s plans next year is in for a big shock.

Winks is nowhere near as flashy as Lo Celso or Ndombele, but he is so classy in other ways. Hugely underrated by so many, it’s scary.

People saying he was outstanding lol!! He was a major cause of their second goal but let’s ignore that lads ??

So what if he was? People can make mistakes and still have a very good game. Dele came on and made 2 excellent assists but still could’ve done a lot more to stop their second goal. I know he didn’t want a yellow but he still could’ve prevented it. Does that mean he had a bad game? No, because he was excellent otherwise. Same as Winks.

Are people really going to call out players every mistake they make, even when they have a very good game otherwise and contribute to a win?

He did fine tonight and put in an amazing amount of hard work considering Sunday. Ndombele on the other hand, needs to sort himself out ASAP. He has the potential to be one of the very best but was blowing out of his arsehole after 10 minutes. Still, I expect him to be a lot fitter next season once he’s used to the pace of this league. I’m actually quite excited for next season....

I've been critical recently but today and against City he deserved his start, Head and shoulders above Dier for the DM position

Major cause?

They got a quick break from our corner and he tracked back. Their guy cut inside him at pace and his only potential option would have been to bring him down, 70 yards from goal. There were two of our men on the cover to the inside, one being Son, and he continued past both of them.

You just really fucking have it in for Winksy if you are making him a ‘major cause’ of that goal.

It’s actually quite pathetic to try to adjust things to fit a narrative - why not try being supportive of him and look at all the positive contributions he made in the game?

Winks was good again tonight, it was hard in the first half for him to do much in an attacking or creating a move becuase we were slow static and genrally crap first half but also that was down to them closing and pressing and giving us no space. He cleared up alot of def wise balls especially in second half and when the game ioened up a bit near the end alot of the good play was down to him starting and creating moves forward from collecting from the defense

Winks was doing the work of two men in midfield because Dier thought that he was on a sight seeing tour watching the game pass by around him.

Do any of you see Skippy as being the DM ? {leaving aside Winks playing that role for the moment}

Ally Gold said we’d likely be in for Soumare at DM in the Summer. It’s clear to see a ball winner in the middle of the pitch would help us a ton.

I’m assuming last Summer Poch hopes Dier would come back to form, then Mourinho did the same. Every top club in the world plays with a DM, there’s no reason Spurs would be the ones to be able to knock that trend.
It'll be Rice IMO.
