I think he’s a victim of his own success..

He called out the losers when young (Adebayor, Kaboul etc)
He scored goals
He tore teams apart
Became Captain of England
Etc etc

all very quickly.. We’ve had trouble signing strikers since all this, cos no one wants to be back-up. He forces his way back in to the team when not fully fit. He’s now taking free-kicks off of people, while not actually doing anything during the game.

I’m not saying sell, but maybe someone should have the bollocks to tell him that he’s been shit at certain things for quite a while, and that he needs a back-up to push him. He’s calling all the shots, and not hitting the target with any of them.

I thought he was poor tonight as were the whole team

There are question marks over his long term fitness and I am not sure that anyone will pay what it would take to get him off us if he did want to go

We badly need to find a way to play to his strengths

I don’t think the side halls him at all. Obviously are ‘team’ and cohesion is woeful Atm but Son and Moura up alongside him really don’t help. We would be better with two wide midfielders looking to supply him rather than cut inside and take space away from him.
we need a formation that suits and then the players to make it happen.
Harry is definitely making it easy for defenders right now being so static but we can do more for him.
It also doesn’t help when seemingly the only attacking outlet is Aurier, who then can’t cross anywhere near Kane.
The best individuals don’t always make the best team.
How do we best play Kane with Son?

Take the money and run. Best days are behind him.
Maybe. Maybe not. So hard to say. He has had some many injuries over the last two years, and is still relatively young. He could very well bounce back with a better supporting cast.

That said...

I think if Real Madrid came flying in with a 175M offer, it should be considered. He is still at a point where he could turn things around. Conversely, this could be it for him. So... cash in while it's still a possibility? Dunno.

I do know a 175M would pay for at least four very good first team, starting-caliber players. (CB, RB, CDM, Forward). And if you combine that with other sales across the team, it free us more cash to bring in another one or two players in key positions. Or through loans.

All I will say, what I am feeling tonight, for a “traditional“ centre forward....he has stopped making centre backs uncomfortable

many possible explanations why it has come to this. but someone needs to break the rut, every game looks like a pre season gentle run around

The problem is do you trust Mourinho & Levy to spend 175mil? I sure as shit dont.

If he hands in a transfer request I can't see how anyone can blame him. We are so far off the level we need to be for him to stay and this summer's transfer activity isn't going to be the one to convince him otherwise.
If he plays like he has been playing lately, i will personally see to it that his transfer request is accepted.

I find this an odd statement. Why do we have to do more for him if he remains static? He should do more for the team by making better runs rather than remaining static.

I love Harry but I do agree with @mpickard2087. Kane is not showing any better than the rest of the squad currently.

If he was working his arse of like he used to both defensively and offensively i'd keep him. But he's not the same anymore.

Right now I would take the money but it would be under certain conditions which won't happen.

  • Sell Kane & others
  • Sack Mourinho
  • Appoint Naglesmann or some other (which won't come)
  • Hire a DOF (Campos)
  • Begin the rebuild
  • Stand by the rebuild and give the new ones time

Always wished he would stay with us for his full career and be a one club man however now I hope for his own sake he moves on to a club and team capable of winning something.

As a fan I admire the fact he signed a new 5 year deal however his advisors should take a long look at themselves as this will make it so difficult for him to leave as it puts all the cards in Levy's hand. Unless someone pays huge fee (which won't happen in current climate imo) he won't be going anywhere which will be a real shame. Going to be horrible watching our only world class talent having his best years at a club that is run so badly on the footballing side and share the pitch with players like aurier and sissoko.

Why doesn't any manager or team mate have the balls to say to him to put the ball down when he picks it up for free kick and sod off.

I wouldn’t blame him if he asked to go. This team / squad is broken and will take years to fix. There are very few worth keeping.

Wont make any difference if “the rebuild” uses the likes of Lucas, Sanchez, Lamela, Fernandes, Bergwijn, Aurier, Ndombele and so on as the benchmark for quality. We have wasted so much money on players recently that are actually taking us backwards.

We desperately need a 2,3,6 and a 10 that would make a big difference, if we need to sell Ndembele, Lamela, Alli and Aurier to fund that so be it.

The state of some of you saying he's past his best and we should cash in.

He is our only world class player, if he leaves it's because we're absolutely dog shit and he'll go somewhere else to tear it up and actually win trophies like a player of his class deserves.

Best days behind him?! Seriously, have a word with yourselves and look how bad we are as a team.

Harry needs to leave for the good of his career, this squad is heading nowhere.
