Poch isn’t as stupid as some on here think, Kane wanted the hat-trick, a few extra minutes against a bobbins team won harm him at all. Son had had a stressful international break and had done far more sprinting than Kane so he got the rest.

Vertonghen had a slight injury that used up a change also.

Kane playing from deep really is great to watch, I hope we are able to get this worked out as an option for the future.

He was different gravy tonight. His passing is on par with de Bruyne. And he ours!!
This is in no way disrespectful to Kane as I love him as a player but given his prowess in front of goal combined with his sublime passing from deep I would say he is a taller, slower version of Messi!!

A bug bare i have with Son at times is far too greedy on form his a world class player but he needs to have better vision at times to be really that player and not every time going for the shot. I can't remember the last time he passed to Kane.
Honourable mention to Dele Alli great to see him getting better game on game, he has come in for some criticism , a very intelligent player, looks for Kane a lot and Son and with Lamela Ndombele , Alli played some really good forward passes.

I think Son was a little too unselfish on two occasions last night, but the one time he definitely should have passed was when he cut back onto his right and fired wide instead of attempting an incredibly easy pass into the path of Kane (who'd have had a one-on-one).

Kane and Son both regularly ignore people in the box to go for a shot. Can't blame them as they're prolific, but I can see people like Dele and Lamela get pissed off at times

His finish for the 5th goal was just so good. Hearking back to his breakthrough season, when he was scoring in the Europa League... where his accuracy was his strongest asset. There was really only that exact spot that he could have placed it, for that to have gone in. Absolute laser guided.

Son is arguably the most guilty of this - he can be a bit head down

Kane was at his (new version) best last night. Roaming, passing, moving into the box - basically orchestrating the attack.

Not a deep lying forward, but a centre forward with total license to conduct the attack.

That's how he should play from now on IMO, and we should pick the attacking players / build the attack around him

Is this a dig at the manager?

We could have been a bit braver. When we went 2-1 down, we started to do it better, create two or three chances towards the end but it was too late.'

I think that is a dig. We were pathetic from 20 mins onwards with very negative tactics that were not even effective as Liverpool created chance after chance - it was just a matter of time until they scored. Poch stubbornly sticking to his Plan A showed all of his tactical flaws.

I don't think Pochs plan was to have the players panic and give the ball away. It's more about having ability and cool enough heads when the going gets tough. We were comfortable for 25 minutes, but lost our composure when Liverpool turned the screw. As many, many teams before us have done at Anfield.

Dembele was more or less a cheat code under those circumstances. Do think that Ndombele and Lo Celso will be able to rectify a lot of our midfield issues when they get up to speed.

Don't know why , but it got to the stage where Pool players were not approached or tackled 10-15 metres inside our half . We often see teams bus parking but rarely see any team so wildly deep . Think I remember Poch saying the players do this themselves implying he has no say over it .
How come we regularly see teams come to us and put up perfect screens against our attack ? It just cannot be that we are the only ones with a manager unable to control basic tactics ingame or organise/prepare for an effective defence .

Meant to be one of the best managers in the world....Are we sure ?

I always felt like this was a defining game for poch like Aston villa away in pochs first season, Kane saved his job that day (pochettino's words not mine) and he doesn't have him today awful situation

To be honest, right now it’s not like it really matters who plays, it’s that things change.

Having Kane out will force a change in dynamic- could be a positive thing.

Hopefully it’s not serious & just something he picked up in the last training session & is short term, knowing our luck tho I expect the opposite
