The club is literally sweating him to the bone ffs.

He needs a backup and he needs to play a little less - to ensure he can play longer and avoid massive problems when he is older (maybe too late).

Get another decent striker ffs Spurs.

I’m sure they would have him mowing the grass if they could.

He will be back in like three weeks wont he
I fucking hope not.

Being the negative fucker I am I honestly believe next season will be his last with us. If he is to leave I don't want him to go out with a whimper, I want him to hit 30-40 goals and leave us as the absolute beast we remember between 2015 and 2018. If he rushes back from injury at every opportunity he is going to wear himself in to the ground and wont be able to walk, let alone play by the age of 30.

For your own sake Harry, take your time.

Yep, have seen comments on sky sports saying not worth getting someone for 6 weeks etc.

So short-sighted as we SHOULD be getting in a decent alternative striker and bloomin’ rotating him, plus kee him on his toes that he will actually be subbed / dropped if not playing well enough as it should be with all players.

It seems that someone has been remiss in the last two years and surely someone noticed we only had one target man and if injured we had problems . I know that Son scored a few when Kane was injured before but he is not a target man who can hold the ball up or win headers to bring others into play Son is a goalscorer but not a target man striker in my eyes others may disagree .
I believe that a big part of us reaching the champions league final was Llorente not the best on the eye but effective none the less .
You never know they might pull a rabbit out of the hat with 5 and a quarter hours of the window to go at the time of this post .

I think it's embarrasing that the transfer window ends and we have not signed a replacement for Kane.

I don't care that we've signed Gedson and Berwijn (who I think are good players). We needed a striker. I don't buy that no one was available. There's always an excuse.
We missed out on Piatek because we left it till the end, as always. We just don't learn. I know it all seemed agreed for a loan, but you always need to be prepared for something happening last minute. If you leave it this late, you have no space to maneuver.

Our transfer strategy seems to be buy when there's an opportunity, regardless if we need the player or not. We don't try and solve our problems

There seems to be most people on this site cannot take the slightest criticism of Levy or ENIC .
Now we know that some of the criticism is factually wrong but this whole site would be better if people like say me say something you don't agree with then discuss instead of blankly calling an opinion wrong without pointing out why its wrong .

You want us to buy when there isn’t an opportunity?

I understand the frustrations that we have not signed a striker and I too am frustrated, however if we look at it slightly differently and say that it’s more bad timing in a way. This a because we have Parrott coming through and also the highly rated Etete who I believe will both become part of our first team squad within the next couple of years.

This means that getting a second striker is difficult as we need one that is happy to play second fiddle to Harry but also doesn’t stifle the opportunities for these two young lads. That’s why I actually thought Giroud was the perfect option for this scenario. However, it wasn’t to be and we need to make good with what we have got and play a 3 up front fluid system.

What I don’t want to see if Lucas played as an out and out front man as he clearly isn’t good enough in that role (not his fault, he isn’t a striker). I would prefer to have a front 3 out of Son, Bergwijn, Dele, Lucas, Lamela and Sess and get them to interchange positions regularly. There are goals in those players, and if Ndombele is back and Lo Celso starting to show just how good he is then I don’t think it’s as completely doom and gloom as first thought!

Chin up lads and let’s watch our young team start to gel ?

I want us to buy what we need, not when a player is on sale.
Bergwijn would've cost over 40m last window. He became available now for a cheaper price, so we signed him. That's our transfer strategy. It's a nice signing for a cheap price. But we spent money in him that we could've used for a position we desperately needed.
Winger was way down in our priorities

Who could we have got, that will come to us for 6 months and then be happy to sit on the bench?

But I do agree we needed to get someone, and it will impact the team until Kane is back.

See I actually disagree. I think our team has been screaming for some creativity going forward. Our current wingers (2 of them) Son and Lucas are both head down and go for goal merchants which is fair enough. In Bergwijn we have bought a very intelligent footballer.

However I do agree that we needed cover upfront. I just hope Parrott gets one or two games.

But conversely if you have a small pot of money available and a winger who’s at the top of your scouting reports becomes available and wants to join, and the only strikers who’re available at a similar price are ones that your recruitment team rate as fair or middling, then isn’t it more prudent in the long-term to get the higher rated player?

That would be fair when Kane was fit. But right now we have 0 strikers. I would def get an average one at least. Much more useful than a winger that will likely be a sub
I get the long term, but sometimes you need make exceptions for the sake of the team.
We could be without a GK, and Levy would still go for a good player on sale

Sorry, but we don't need cover upfront. That would mean we have someone else. Kane is done for the season. We have no strikers
If we were a team that played like Guardiola's Barcelona, we could cope without a #9. But with Mourinho we need one without doubt

I see a lot of people saying this but the injuries he's had don't seem the sort to destroy a player long term. Hips and knees can destroy a player, arguably his ankle could be an issue but equally his most recent ankle injuries have all been awkward, heavy impacts. There's no reason his hamstring shouldn't be back to 100% once it's recovered though.
