Silver lining (for lack of a better term) is that Son is back and has previously stepped up when Kane's been out. He'll play Moura, Son and Alli as a front three. My worry is that even after Kane went off we still resorted to playing hoofball to Moura and Alli against Southampton, which was bloody pointless. Can't get away with that without a target man now (and I'm not even a fan of that tactic anyway, as Kane isn't really your classic target man).

Hoping this is a smokescreen declaration to take pressure off his recovery....really a strain but declared a tear?

Well, we will have to change our style under him now. He’s not going to keep having the defenders hitting Son and getting him to win headers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has him running in behind fullbacks though.

Anyway, in the last couple of games we have started playing it short from goal kicks, for the first few games we didn’t do it once so there is evidence of us trying to play the ball up the pitch.

Really had enough of so called experts on TV and media saying.... Who would come to Spurs to be Harry's understudy...

What alot of shit, we are probably the only team in world top flight football that only has one recognised out and out top forward on the books... Insane, and why Harry gets injured playing all the time
Surely we can find a decent understudy who would happy to play in the domestic cups, come on in alot of Premier games when plan a isn't working and start in games when Harry is in need of a rest

Surely with CL football, new stadium, Jose lure, and living in London we can find someone who would join us.

The only team in world top flight football that only has one recognised out and out top forward, Absolutely spot on. Its a travesty that this club has been run on a shoe string and relied on one CF. We deserve all the fucks up the ass we get for such a tardy, abject and penny pinching policy.

Its a Levy and Poch fuck up that we are going to pay for dearly.

Indeed. I refuse to believe there hasn’t been a striker anywhere that’s not at the level of Kane, but better than Llorente or Jansenn.

If there's one thing Harry won't do is rush this injury. Hamstring injuries are real shitters and you can easily re-injure it if not fully healed properly.

He won't rush it for this reason as he has the Euros to play and captain in this summer and he wouldn't want to do anything to ruin that.

Of course he wants to come back as soon as possible, who wouldn't, but not as the expense of risking further injury and ruining an international tournament.

Anyone thinking he'll be back for Feb is legitimately high.

If Son hadn't been sent off Harry would not have played every single minute/game lately.

This is also very true. And we’d probably have hit more points over the Xmas period. His petulance has cost us a lot.

Thing is that Harry is not just a great forward . He is the King at Spurs . He will decide if he plays or not . He decided he'd play the CL final injured and noone at Spurs could stop him .
Yes, no other centre forward at Spurs is madness...but would king Harry be pleased if a good CF was bought ? . Would our goal fanatic agree to rest for a match vs a weaker team ?

Spurs priorities can get a bit lost with this sort of player power situation imo.

Good point but then I’d counter that to Kane that this is the third season now he has suffered from an injury that will cause him to be out for a significant period and that he needs to listen and be rested every now and then for the good of his career.

Son is back up. If anything we need a Son backup - a player who can operate in any of the forward positions.

we’ve seen with Janssen/Llorente that a specialist CF won’t play enough for them to be a sharp and adequate stand in when called upon.

Bayern have Lewandowski and 2 young strikers. Basically Real played last season using only Benzema. So no, Tottenham aren't only good team and with one top forward.

Exactly. Dortmund up until they recently bought Haaland only had Alcacer. And he was always injured so Reus played as CF instead.

Tbh i wasn't really having a pop at Harry......

Its upto the club and coach to sort that out, i don't believe for one minute Harry doesn't want us to buy an understudy for him, and i am not going to hammer him for wanting to play every game for us......we are lucky to have him, he is the only WC player we have.

Personally I would go balls deep for cavani at psg. Apparently leaving this window and is a proper proper striker. Might even give kane a new challenge too.

With Mourinho as manager now there is only 1 person calling the shots. Plus he doesn’t have that long sentimental relationship with Kane that Poch had

He didn’t even take him on the plane to Munich for the CL game. He’d probably have started for Poch or at the very least been on the bench
