Is there any indication on time frame here? The clubs statement is pretty useless. Where’s the football manager style exact recovery time!? That game needs to update it’s handling of that: your physio reports that your player is out for an unspecified amount of time. Far more realistic.

Torn hamstring. Out for a couple months best case scenario there.

Yeah the lack of further info doesn’t sound good. He was holding the top of the hamstring just under his butt when he went off. Can’t imagine it’s the best place to tear it.

Better buy that back up striker now then. Son can’t play up there on his own for months. Our attack will seriously miss him out wide.

Yep we don't have the cover for Kane. Son can do a job, but he's not a direct replacement for Kane & until we get someone who can do a similar job to Harry we'll always struggle to keep him fit & cover for his absence.

we’ve tried that with Llorente/Janssen. Problem is Kane wants to play, and will play, every match he’s available. A good quality number 9 won’t want to sit on the bench every week, and even if they do, we have seen that when they do play they will be so rusty meaning they can’t perform at the required level anyway.

Long term we’re better off just getting a Son clone/back up to give us rotation options in a couple of positions. Rather that than a specialist back up who will never play.

Maybe we need a strong manager then who tells him that he picks the team?

He’s a 26 year old man though. Just reaching his physical peak. Shouldn’t be any reasons why he can’t play 99% of matches like Messi/Ronaldo did at that age.

I agree but I wonder how many times they were subbed off when easily winning games in a less physical league or didn’t play in cup games.

H has a great record of recovering from injury quickly.

Would be nice to know what grade tear it is but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back on the training ground in 3 weeks

Fingers crossed anyway!

It will be 4-8 weeks as it's almost certainly a grade 2 injury.

I would be stunned if it's grade 3 with the way he walked off. Also with Grade 3 it's generally around 3 months out, with a potential requirement for surgery.

Almost certainly a grade 2, in which case it will be 4-8 weeks depending on quickly his body recovers, every person is different.

The way we’ve been recently and given how Son played last season when Kane was injured I’m quietly optimistic.
Good opportunity for Jose to shuffle the pack as we done a lot better with Son up top last season than a lot of people gave us credit for.

Also means Lucas has to play every game which is almost as bad as Kane being out.
Lucas being up top is fine with me. He saved our asses last season and is the only reason we made the CL final.

I think we'll be fine without Kane. We know how to play for a few months without him. We've done it each of the last 3 years.

I have it in my mind he’ll be aiming to be back for the first Leipzig game on 19th Feb. Just a feeling.

Ironically it would have made sense to keep fish out of water Llorente given we’re now playing hoofball.

Such a shame Harry seems to get broken so regularly now. Unfortunately he’s not the only one who looks shagged.

What he did in the CL was great, but irrelevant. In the PL and with no midfield to speak of, Lucas up top will just mean we have even less of the ball than we’ve been seeing of late.
