Anyone who knows me knows I love kane and fight his corner to any non spurs fan to death. But amongst us I can be honest and say he just isnt the kane of 2 years ago. We can all reel off goal stats but we cant fool the eyes. Deep down I think we all know something is missing and I think this will change from now on

He will still have thr great touch and produce great passes which he doesnt get credit for but he just isnt the same. We can 6 in 4 etc until the cows come home but it wont mask his performances

Kane never had raw pace, but when he developed physically after his breakthrough season he seemed to develop an incredible agility and sharpness, allied together with serious strength which made him such a monster of a number 9. You could tell a lot of it was through fitness and looking after himself. It game him a massive edge to go along with his ability to score all types of goals.

The player that terrorised Liverpool at Wembley or who scored that goal away at Burnley ( where he slide tackled to win the ball and then burst through into the box, side stepped the defender before lashing it in the corner) doesn’t seem to be there.

That doesn’t mean he’s not still brilliant and our best player, but as you say his game is very different now even though he should be in his peak years.

Yeah I totally agree. Hence why I said I hope it isn’t because he’s worried about burning out.

Seems to have followed the same pattern as with his England role. Dropping deep to feed quicker runners beyond him. Thing is, it made sense for England in a way due a complete lack to creativity available in midfield, but we shouldn’t have that excuse at Spurs.

Fact is he’s both our best passer of the ball and the best finisher. Shame he can’t pass to himself :D

It’s partly because Eriksen hasn’t been at his best in recent times. Let’s hope that when GLC is back fit, he could play the Eriksen role and push Kane up again.

doesn't press with any intensity, never runs the channels anymore which used to cause him so much joy. Something isn't right with him, yes he can still pass and shoot but even last night his use of the ball was poor. With his current role hes going to get nowhere near winning the golden boot, seems to be most places but in front of goal over the last year or so.

As much as I rate Kane if the likes of Ferdinand with his " if I were Kane I would want out " makes Harry want to leave then I am cool with that as we will get enough money for him to buy an adequate replacement plus one other player as most people will say Kane is in the bracket of 100 million pound players. Of course ideally Harry will stay put for many years to come.

He's a shadow of what he was two years ago.

I absolutely love him but currently having him in the 11 is a net negative.

There's a reason 2 years ago we couldn't win a game without him, whereas now our poor form of 2019 coincides with his return to the starting lineup - don't forget our best patch of what's been a pretty bad 2019 was the spell where he was out and Son deputized. That's not to say Son is a better player, but right now it just seems that this form of Kane is a hindrance and holding us back. The team looks so fluid without him and so static with him. I just don't think he's anything like what he was before the injuries.

Could he still be in need of a rest? Drop a few lbs? We can debate all that until the cows come home but he’s absolutely starved of service, in virtually every game he plays at the moment, for both us and England.

Eriksen almost pointless lately, Dele not done much for going on a year now, Lamela cannot be charged with creating anything above Europa group stage level, Son not the most creative, nor Lucas.
Maybe GLC and Sess can reignite him?

I’d love to see how Kane would get on with a genuine box of tricks, technically brilliant playmaker behind/either side of him. Even last night, watching an old past it Valbuena, who was never top level anyway, made me think if Olympiacos had Kane last night he’d have scored a hat trick working alongside such a smart player.

He's not at his best at the moment, but he's pretty much always been slow to get into top gear every season since he broke through. He's a rhythm player, he needs to feel totally sharp and in tune to be at his most dangerous.

The problem is he's been like this for a while now. He got rushed back from injury too quick.

Last season was totally impossible to judge with the post-World Cup grind and the injuries. We'll see what he's like by November and then can make some judgements.

TBF I don't think he has looked that bad but the rest of the side has been playing pretty poorly so he hasn't been getting chances

I think alot of people on here are just so used to good things ending very quickly for us they are waiting for Kane to drop off so micro-analyse every little thing he does.

Defo not at his best but could easily have had a tap in if Dele had squared to him. He did peel off a few times but didn't receive the ball. It doesn't help when your team mates have tunnel vision.

Lamela did something similar as well.

Lamela did something similar as well.

The Dele one was far more straightforward, gilt edged goal.

The Lamela one I'm not even sure was on. Probably was but far from straightforward given the tightness of other players around.

The thing with Harry he does not fit the profile of what a lot of people see is needed to be a top player he is not fast he is not super skilful
He does have the ability to put the ball in the net at a decent ratio to chances created .
He is brilliant in the air .
His passing range is fantastic and has and will set up many chances for others.
He also works hard to help out in defence.
For me he is the best kind of (team first) player and I would not swap him for any other striker.

If the team aren’t following the managers instructions (as Poch said - although I’m not sure what any of his plans are at the moment tbf!) then you start to see Harry frustrated. Dropping deep etc etc. I said two seasons ago that I though he looked more top heavy, actually felt this pre-season was the leanest we’d seen him in a while. Give it time, let’s get the team (picking the right team would bloody help) up and firing and see where he is then.
