Those are the sort of saves I hope your boy will make on a regular basis soon!
He does in fairness, he has a great leap, highest standing jump at the club!

second fastest in sprint out of whole club too, which is unreal for a keeper!

Massive confidence booster for him and the players in front of him, the way he read that tackle he came for half way through the first half was top draw.
As @Shanks said so much of being a keeper is in the head and last night will have done him a world of good

Yeah that sweeper keeper tackle was incredible when you see where Davies lost the ball and how far he is away from it

I’m going to be a negative Nelly. No doubt he had a fantastic game and is in the running for Mom. We all already knew he’s a fantastic shot stopper. However he wasn’t put under pressure on his weaknesses which is set pieces/commanding his box. So I’ll definitely applaud yesterday but he still has the same question marks.

Was thinking the same thing reading the last few pages.

He was excellent, but he wasnt tested on his weak spots. Qarabag didnt stick many awkward corners in for him to deal with (made me laugh when they put a couple out of the box for the volley, they obviously havent watched enough game tape), and were sat so low out of possession rarely pressed with the ball at his feet.

Either way hoping it still has a positive impact on his confidence and that benefits the other parts of his game.

Yeah, agree, just hoping that game gives him a bit of confidence to stop being so erratic

There's no question on his shot stopping - it's absolutely outstanding

He feels to me like quite a young keeper - which he is really - and that he needs to learn to better command his area.

But we're going to struggle to get a better keeper IMO, and he'll keep on improving

It feels like keepers break into senior football at a later stage than outfield players. I don't know whether there's any data around that, but if I had to put a figure on it I'd say maybe 4 years later. So a 28 year old keeper such as Vicario might be the equivalent of a 24 year old outfield player.

I just love his passion and enthusiasm. He’s high on intelligence and I’m sure he’ll iron out some of those identified weaknesses. On the whole he’s been brilliant.

At least 4. I'd say only a few keepers get to their prime much before 30

Yes there is, average age of a prem debut for a keeper is like 25 years old.

I think he will learn that he either needs to be the keeper who comes for the ball or doesn’t.

Keepers like Gomes were so much worse when they were inconsistent as the defence doesn’t know when to intercede or when to trust the keeper is coming.

what Big Brad Friedel did for us really well was just be clear that he wasn’t coming and it made a huge difference
