I was enjoying him deeper, but maybe we’ve got to push him up into the hole - he did score 20 goals for Betis last year playing that role. Dele as the false 9, Gio just behind, and Bergwijn and Lucas on the flanks.

I think if Tanguy comes back in, Gio pushes further up and Dele plays as a False 9 with Lucas and Bergwijn either side, we should be able to cope... just about.

Yes Gio can play as an 8 but really I want him a little further up the pitch, especially at the moment without Kane. Aside from that, he's our best fit player at the moment.

You can see the confidence building. Free kicks, corners, always showing for a pass, building play. He's going to be running the show soon enough.

I wasn't able to watch Modric here at Spurs but he really feels like that sort of player. Incredible talent.

He was superb tonight. Just a shame we have so many injuries and holes in our squad right now. On another day that would have been a match winning performance.

Really looks to have settled now.
Looks really confident and strong on the ball, can see a pass, and has a deceptive turn of pace. He'll miss Kane more than any on the pitch. I think those two may link up superbly, now he's more comfortable and confident in the side.

I love the way him , Ndombele, Bergwijn and Fernandes all look to go forward at every opportunity. If they can change direction and surge forward then they do. No safety first crab football from these chaps.
Just need to shore that attack up with a bit of physically defensive types.
Imagine Wanyama, Sandro, Palacious type allowing that lot to run riot.

So good tonight. With the correct players and system around him he will become one of the worlds best.

He showed some real pace tonight too, which I wasn’t expecting.

Bundles of ability and a great attitude and worth ethic.

Top class.

Ballsy guy, seemed to go into everything with a ton of confidence, I can't wait to see if this is a consistent thing or what - made some brilliant runs but did well taking control of the ball and getting it forward to the wings too. Good effort.
