Difficult times at the moment but to think Gio, N'dombadboy, Japhet Tangangbusiness, Kane and Sonny are all Spurs players is heartwarming. Add to that Dele and Mr Jose Humble One on the touchline/behind the scenes and there is reason to believe next season will be a damn more exciting than this one.

Agree, but we still need a bit more from Lucas Mourofasub and Erik lamassassin.

In really getting to see his ability it's exciting to think how our centre of midfield could now potentially be so good with him and Ndombele in there. That really has the makings of a top top midfield if they're to get a really combative midfielder alongside them too.

Impressive given that a lot of sports science experts of SC suggested he and Lamela wouldn't be able to start 2 in a row much less 3.

DId start and should have started though are two different things.

Lo Celso should have, Lamela, I feel, needed a break.

Yeah 3 games was too far for Lamela but I think we were better off starting and taking off in terms of getting him up to speed.

To be honest on his first outings I thought he'd be someone who took absolutely ages to adapt to the PL (which didn't bode well for any future here, being on loan), had the rabbit in the headlights look about him about the pace and intensity of it all and seemed unable to kick the ball further than 5 yards.

So credit to him for getting up to speed so very quickly. Many, many players wouldn't, indeed haven't. I'm more impressed with his off the ball work so far in all truth - Most needed thing has been he doesn't think twice about getting stuck in and showing some tenacity and fight. Exactly what we needed with a team sorely lacking it for 12 months or so. I also thought the other night his willingness to go and press with urgency and restrict space encouraged Winks to do the same and, for 45 mins at least, we finally had a functioning cm2 for the first time in fucking ages that worked in tandem to restrict space, stop the opposition from playing their way out and pressing effectively.

I think a lot of us had hoped that Eriksen would move a little deeper and dictate play like Modric used to but he never had the tenacity as you say and Lo Celso has come in and been exactly what I wanted in that position so far.

I'm interested to see how we go forward. Dele is clearly a starter in Jose's eyes and Gio is playing his way into the team. N'Dombele could be absolutely first class if everything gets sorted out for him, but can we fit all three into a functional system?

I'd argue not unless we actually go diamond style (runs for cover).

Not a fan of having Dele in the team, but the wonky we are employing he can work as the right sided attacker cutting in, allowing us to have the DM; lo Celso and Tanguy in CM.

Ironically, it looks like the dreaded diamond could be the right formation for us. The difference is that with Ndombele and LoCelso we have 2 CMs who are crisp passers and can also bring the ball forward effectively. The Poch diamond was such a dull affair with no cut which only served to get the ball to Eriksen. We have some much better creative options from deeper now.
