If we can get Ndombele fit and get a proper DM to support him and GLC in a midfield three we'll be fucking laughing next season.

Gio DM Ndombele
Son Kane Alli

I agree, but Mourinho seems pretty set on the 4231 formation. IMO, insisting on playing Dele at 10 is very hit and miss and more often than not the bad outweighs the good.

He might be set but he can always adapt. Let's be honest. People say hes finished but hes shown already here that hes willing to change and trying to change his ways and his philosophies.

Dele is best at a 10 but the fact hes still so young probably means he can learn to play in a multiple of positions.

If we get some good full backs that are able to provide width like Arnold and Robertson do for Liverpool theres no reason why Dele and Son cant play close to Kane.

E.g.

CB CB
RB DM LB
Gio Ndombele
Son Kane Alli

DM, two bombers of full backs this summer and I think we'll be flying again next season.

Jose has bemoaned not having had time to properly train the players, so it would make sense to focus on the basics and tailored preparation for each fixture's opposition. Maybe a full formation change is too big a step in the short term, we'll have to wait and see till after the summer to see how he really wants us to line up.

Imagine people had him as a total write off even before he’d played 5 games on the bounce .

Still hasn’t reached that target yet and views have changed.

Very positive signs. Great to see him finally get a proper run in the team and he simply has to be playing now - exciting times ahead once N'Dombele gets fit as we will have potentially a much stronger midfield than we have had in years - if we can add in a talented defensive midfielder we will be absolutely flying.

One thing I have noticed is a lot of the time we don’t attack cohesively. We just don’t pass and move well.

Son and Moura often try to take on a player and shoot when we have other options available and Alli regularly wants 5 seconds on the ball longer than he needs.

Lo Celso, Winks and Sessegnon show good willingness to pass and move and play one twos. Ndombele also has an eye for a pass.

I hope Lo Celso’s playing style is what Jose concentrated on.

Moura in particular is doing my nut in always trying to dribble through 4 or 5 players as soon as he receives the ball.

Totally agree with this - our attacking players play like individuals rather than as a unit.

I'd add that, IMO, Ndombele and Lo Celso both have the ability to bring the ball forward into attacking positions and if they are in a CM 3 with a proper DM in the middle, they can take turns to move forward to support the forward line. Could be a very fluid setup that's hard to defend against.

At times it’s like watching kids play.

“He didn’t pass to me so I am not passing to him.”

It definitely has the feel of playground football.

I’m not sure it’s quite he won’t pass, I just think he has limited football intelligence.

He does give his all and I feel a bit for him having to feed off scraps and long balls, but 99% of the time as soon as he does get the ball at his feet he just automatically wants it do his dribbling thing, but yet the one time near the end when he had space to drive into and just one man to take on he then decides it’s finally time to pass..... and then under hits it.

I will apologise now for saying this and if anyone is offended...but being Agentianan I was never going to be concerned about tenacity and effort most players coming from that region play with a certain edge that seems well suited to this league.

Ndombele needs to play back to back to really get up to speed I’m licking my lips to the combination of Lo Celso Ndombele in midfield.

Why on earth would anyone be offended by that?

I find myself saying these exact words about several thousand times whenever I watch the news or read a paper and see someone getting their knickers in a twist over literally nothing.

There was a bit at the end of the game where he was totally knackered, head down, chest heaving and Aurier still kept passing him the ball.

Was comical and bless him he still tried to give and go!
