I can only echo what was said the other day...why is it only lefties who get accused of being too one footed!? It's weird.
I think it’s because when they come up against defenders who are majority right footed it makes it easier for the defender to stop them going on the outside.

Just out of curiosity, and not having a dig, but have you watched much of him before? It took him almost half a season to warm up at Betis but he is extremely talented. His skills won't come through until he learns the league, the pace etc. But I have very little doubt he will become an important player for us and I have watched a lot of him over the past few seasons.

Only seen a few clips on YouTube which obviously show a huge amount of talent and ability, as do most clips on YouTube of player highlights

I have my fingers & toes crossed and hope as you’ve seen him play a lot, that your judgment on Gio is far superior to mine

Was ok tonight, take away the goal and he really wouldn’t have stood out. Think he needs to move inside, not sure about him on the right wing.

The more playing time that the better players have with each other in our competitive matches, the better understanding they will have of each other’s movements, and then we will see less errors in their passes.

Definitely a bit of the Silva’s about him. You can just see his class. Won’t really spark until next season but the signs are there and promising.

You're right, he's not in Eriksen's class, he actually puts in a shift and puts his foot in.m

People are quick to forget that Eriksen used to cover the most ground per match in the whole league a few years back. He offered plenty of industry considering his talent.

A real hodge podge of a team. Emerging talent, waning talent and off form stalwarts not to mention the injury list.

Give him time to settle.

I feel Jose and the team are focusing on the cups we're in. Wouldn't surprise me if we lost on Saturday.

I feel like he is holding back or rather something is holding him back. You can clearly see he has great technical qualities but I dont know, seems like he isnt too confident. I dont know.

I think he needs a complete run of games and think he and Lamela should really be playing more often

I think that's inevitable for a player who has had only a handful of opportunities and who is finding his feet. The encouraging thing for me is that he didn't hide, even after a few misplaced passes and I thought he did well tracking back and generally pitching in. Going forward, it will take time on the pitch for him to build an understanding with those around him, but it's abundantly clear that he has bags of talent, a great set of skills and plenty of fight in him. If, as has been suggested, Jose doesn't fancy him, I really am stuck for words.

Early days.

Shown some nice glimpses, has brought a bit of urgency to our attacks, puts himself about.

Personally think that given a sensible bedding in period with improved playing minutes, that his talent will come to the fore.

Loved some of that quick link up play with Lamela and himself first half yesterday.

Just read a couple of pages and the consensus is that Gio was great tonight. I don't agree. He is clearly very talented and his effort - particularly closing down and tracking back - couldn't be faulted. His passing, however, was generally terrible. I don't blame him for this because he's hardly played and it will take him a while to adjust and integrate, but let's call it what it was.

He was trying to be progressive in his passing and wasn't constantly looking for the easy option. Until he gets a run of games and builds a better understanding of what's going on around him I think these things can happen. What he did better than anybody else though was move the ball quickly and he was always on the move and looking for space to make himself available. Made a change from the ponderous stuff we're generally used to IMO.

Still think he is better suited as an 8.

100%. As others have said his game and style is a bit similar to David Silva. But no coach in their right mind would put Silva on the wing and expect him to track back. I don't thi k we'll see the best of Lo Celso until he's deployed centrally like he was mostly at Betis and Psg

I reckon he just needs a break where circumstances means he's forced to start a league game or 2 and he'll take the opportunity with both hands.

Give him a run of games I say.

I can see why Mourinho might not fancy him though. He gave the ball away last night more times than even Eriksen. May have been nerves or a lack of match time though. But the balls were given away in the middle of the park which isn’t good. It’s ok near their area if he’s trying to make things happen but he needed to be safer on the ball a bit deeper.
