Would like to see him play as a 10 instead of Ali. I think he would give us more cohesion as a 10 rather then Ali

Ali depends on his individual brilliance which does not happen every game

The sooner Lo Celso and Ndombele can build the sort of connection that Dembele & Eriksen had the better for Spurs. We need to get those two on the field as much as possible.

Anyone notice Dele having a go at him? Also turning his nose up when GLC tried a shot. Not good from Dele. Needs to help the guy settle, not blast him all the time.

When GLC took a shot and it hit Dele? It was strange, because if Dele wasn't in the way it looked like that was flying into the top corner.

Yea think dele just wanted him to play him in so when it hit him it frustrated him all much about nothing really, taking the shot on was a perfectly fine option, but dele moaning isn’t bad either as he’s looking for the ball and looking to be played in which is what we need our n.o10 and striker to do so all good, they’ll click more in time.

dele does seem like he could be a bit of a twat though but hopefully he’s growing up.

Think Dele was just complaining about having the ball smashed against him, without realising it was flying in

It doesn’t but Dele’s goal threat is much greater, his instinctive finishing ability is very valuable. I’d like us to adapt a little bit to the game we’re playing, room for both long term I reckon. But I understand that right now we need a bit of consistency/familiarity so happy to be patient.

I’d go as far to say Lo Celso is or at least will be better than Dele. He’s much more economical with the ball. He looks technically brilliant.

Eriksen and Dembele were never paired in midfield it was Dembele with Wanyama/Dier so we need a replacement for that position. Hopefully N`Dombele matures into a Dembele level player...

It was not that kind of connection he meant. More about the axis going forward.

Dembele
Eriksen

Annoying I know, patience is key.

Certainly not helped with the manager change, but I do recall all the excitement when we were first linked to the likes of GLC and Ndombele.

They hardly featured under Poch, and maybe Mourinho’s hand has been forced of late by way of suspensions, but they both came with good showings in their respective leagues.

Ndombele making Champions league squad of the tournament 18/19. GLC, named in a few media outlets as part of la Liga team of the season 18/19.

These players were both highly thought of prior to joining Spurs. Yes they'll need time to adjust, plenty do.

But as much as that can be frustrating, don't let the settling in period, and the lack of game time be seen as a reason for thinking they're not good enough.

The talk of GLC not prepared to track back. That season prior to joining Spurs, Betis were renowned for their press. Effort all over the pitch to try and regain the ball back as soon as possible when out off possession.

Think Poch early days, GLC has been schooled in this.

As for Ndombele, maybe his fitness could/should be improved, but again, lads got the skills set we need.

We've heard plenty of past and present pro's exclaim that it took them a while to adjust to the Premier league. Many citing that they'd underestimated the speed and rigours of the league.

not taking a dig but the whole Ndombele's fitness being an issue is such a weird thing we created as a fan base, he runs awkward but I really don't see where his fitness being an issue has come from? he legitimately improved as the game went on against Norwich and he virtually played every league game and CL last year for Lyon

Yep, Alex Ferguson is still pissed off that Utd bought Roy Keane from a relegated side.

What a ridiculous way to judge a player.

Yep I’d have loved us to get Robertson off Hull when they went down but Liverpool snagged him... :-(

Reading the posts above it reminded me of when Eriksen joined us and we wanted an immediate replacement for Modric. It never happened as I recall.

I'm all for signing him up permanently, but I don't think we'll see the best of him until he can play in his favoured position of no. 10.
That means ditching dele and I don't see Mourinho doing this anytime soon. Unless his hand is forced because of injury.
