Don't know why mourinho doesn't like him. Skill and effort. Or perhaps he's sticking to the players he knows until he does more training
Being slight of frame, slow and acutely one footed may be some of the contributing factors to why he ain't getting picked.

Slow?!!! He's not slow at all, he's not rapid but he's a nifty player and certainly quicker than someone like Eriksen for example.

He also gets stuck in way more than Eriksen and isn't afraid to get involved.

Feel for him. Looks like he’s trying too hard...that he has five minutes and just several touches of the ball to do something special...want to see him get a start

As others have said, he’s rightly not going to drop Dele at the moment, so he’s going to have to be more patient.

Although if N’Dombele continues to look so unfit and Winks continues with the levels he’s been playing at we may as well give him a try in a midfield two. But Burnley is probably not an ideal game for that.

Would have thought they were the perfect opponent as they play a flat 4-4-2

Contrary to most, I just don't really know if he'll even be at Spurs for that long. I know most fans just automatically think that he should start over at least 3 or 4 other players, but there must be a good reason for the discrepancy between how many times I read on SC that Lo Celso should start, and how little he actually plays. I'm starting to suspect that this will end up as a very weird transfer and a short spell.

Lo Celso should be starting for us on the right of midfield in the 4231 formation we're playing. I don't see why he's not being given a run of games there. Lucas has been bang average.
The most sensible thing I’ve read today. Moura is inconsistent; when he’s playing well, he’s very good. But I wouldn’t say that happens every other game, more like every three or four games. This is where GLC can make an impression. Maybe he lacks the pace of a WF, but Eriksen’s best days with us were often as a LAM. Tenacity, technique and determination, which I’ve seen in GLC out value a pacey but inconsistent WF

I would agree with this if Poch were our manager but on the evidence of Mourinho’s first few matches in charge he has set us up in essentially a 4-4-1-1 system. Meaning the wide players are there to provide width and put crosses in. We’re punting the ball much more now for runners to chase down.

This just won’t play to GLC’s strengths. He wants the ball to feet a lot and needs to be central to play to get the best out of him.

Unless Alli gets injured I just don’t see GLC starting much unfortunately.

Agree with what you say about how we’ve played so far but I’m hoping Mourinho will add more to our game plan than the quick, long punt. At times, it’s effective but it’s also predictable and teams are figuring it out. I’d like to think we can also play neat, intercutting football, which Dele and Kane have thrived off for years until the last ten or so months

And after one PL match from start in the position you say he is suited for, you have surmised that Lo Celso is consistent? How do you know?He had a fairly forgettable match performing slightly worse than the most mundane performances from Lucas, but you know already that Lo Celso better, AND more determined? The only reason fans want Lo Celso to play is that he's played so little that the illusion of a shiny new signing still lingers.

Indeed, let's rather hope Lo Celso is inconsistent, because if he is consistent with the little he has showed in you preferred position for him he won't last long.

Will you two stop being so damn civil. In this situation you need to insult each other. A good opening one is accusing someone of being “new” then carrying on from that. ?

Carry on, as you were.

You seem very keen on GLC not playing. He's had very few minutes to show what he can do. He can't do any worse than Sissoko and Winks did against United. He's not some unknown quantity. There's a reason we went for him.

Quite possibly and if so it is a combination of bad luck and Poch and co not really having a nailed down system or way of playing and moulding players to suit a la Klopp at Liverpool. Lo Celso is a top top talent there is no doubting that but he should be played ideally LCM as n.o8 in a midfield 3, if not then as a n.o10 or at a push cutting in as a RAM. He could take Lucas's place or play in the midfield 2 alongside an Ndombele but i'm not sure he's going to get a chance to which would be a real shame.

He certainly is being given short shrift. It's a catch-22 situation. He can't make an impression unless he's given consistent game time. He's not given more game time because he looks inconsistent in the few minutes he gets to play.

That said...

Jose needs to suss out in the squad, which are the players that can come out of the gates and play with a high level of intensity from the start and through to the end. If nothing else, he's learnt over the last two weeks that we have too many players in the team who are unable to consistently play with a sense of urgency throughout the game.

Last 20 mins of West Ham and Bournemouth games both showed how much we switch off in the last 30 mins if we are ahead. = No killer instinct.
Olympinokos 1st half was ponderous, lifeless and insipid = not of the players out there is able to increase the intensity and force others to do the same.
Man Utd game in its entirety was played at a ponderous, indifferent pace = the players are unable to motivate themselves to play with more gusto and urgency.

It isn't just about not having a reliable midfielder. It's about attitude.

That's why, I'd like to see him focusing more on the players who have this sort of attitude. Lamela, Lo Celso, Foyth, Ndombele, are all highly capable of bringing that sort of attitude into every game. Sadly, he's never going to get through to the likes of Winks, Sissoko, Aurier, Sonny, or even Kane when it comes to playing that way every minute, of every game. Instead, they will need players around them who are able to set the tempo. It's like a horse that sets the pace of a race. The others will follow. And right now, we don't seem to have anyone capable of doing that. So, why the hell not give Lo Celso a go. An opportunity to prove himself. Same with Foyth. And same with Lamela when he returns.

I get what you're saying about attitude, but that listing of players is very convenient, based on this loss.

Ndombele's attitude and setting of the pace has been on and off, certainly no worse than Son and Kane who are being turned on a little. Foyth has also been a little too relaxed at times. Whilst he would do well to play a broken Lamela regularly.

If anything that's just proof that the best position to play when a team is losing...is on the bench. Also highlighting Winks, Sissoko and Aurier for attitude may be correct, but they also happen to be our three worst players, technically, positionally and ability wise.

Agree on GLC.
