Let's be honest, he's unlikely to be over the moon with his current situation. He's in a new (cold and shit) country, he doesn't speak English, the Argentinian coach he came to play for has been sacked, and the new coach has played him for about two minutes in three games.

There's difference between situation of Poch & Mourinho. Poch always does this with any new player.
Mourinho has come in at a difficult time, where the results are the key. So, its understandable if he wants to be conservative on new players. Jose also said he will start to rotate a bit given he feels problem with us is more physical. Accordingly, he is already integrating Ndombele. I also expect the same with Lo Celso. I do fear for Sess given he is not a starter anyway.

Mourinho seems happy with the galavanting Aurier and we have the attacking NDombele so I can see why he is hesitant on Sess. He needs defensive players more than attacking right now.

Wonder if he’s regretting his decision to go away with the national team when he was clearly unfit and then picked up a 6 weeks injury. That international break should have been spent at our training ground working under Poch and settling in to his new surroundings. Instead he went and played 2 pretty meaningless friendlies that could possibly cost him his spurs career.

One thing I really Hope changes under Jose is our willingness to allow players to go away on international duty and before anyone says we can’t stop them, tell that to Liverpool.

A player that refuses to play with the national team, probably won't be called up later for several games.
So I highly doubt he's regretting his decision. It was unfortunate, but it's not like he did his ACL, it was a minor injury, and I don't think that set him back much in terms of adapting to the league.

My only fear is the fast pace of the Premier League is not suitable for him. Hence he's more likely to get game time in European games.

But really he just needs more time and hope he is afforded that.

It isnt really a loan, in that if we qualify for Europe we must complete the transaction. The assumption at the time that the deal was done was that European qualification was a given. It isn't now but the deal is the same- if we do qualify, we have bought him.

As I remember it, we have an obligation to buy if we qualfy for Europe and an option to buy if we don't.

John Terry recently came out said KDB and Salah weren’t good enough for Chelsea at the time.
Terry said that they weren't good enough to get in the team ahead of Robben and Damien Duff. The only problem with his argument was that both of those players had already left Chelsea when Salah and KDB were there.

As we already know, John Terry is a prick. He's clearly also a stupid one.

If this doesn’t get 100 likes there isn’t any justice in the world. I know it’s not exactly breaking news but still... he’s the biggest tool in football and that’s not easy to achieve

I think that title is closely contested between Terry and Campbell, and I can't decide who wins.

So we basically will buy him whatever the circumstances and there's no chance of him leaving? ? ?

Lo Celso and Ndombele were starting matches before your arrival, now they're not, is it a case of them having to earn your trust?

Not my trust. It is not about my trust and I know them very, very well. It is not like I don't know them, I know the qualities they have, I know why the club bought them, I know what the club saw in them. I think good buys. I think good decisions and of course they will play with me. I always think that people who come from abroad, from different leagues need more time to adapt to the Premier League, but great potential and I am more than happy to have them.

Hmm, damned with faint praise...

I like a lot about what I’ve seen from Ndombele. I’ve seen very little I really like from Lo Celso. Another Holtby, possibly? We’ll see.

Just curious, are you basing that off of the about 250 minutes he's played in a Spurs shirt. 250 minutes spread over 8 appearances and 3+ months that were interrupted by a pretty significant injury?

Depends how we go tactically, although I don't think mourinho is looking to set us up too similarly to the way he has before. Currently we look to be set up more like klopps Liverpool with lightening fast direct attacks when we recover possession than a reincarnation of a previous mourinho side.

However, there are some similarities between some of our squad and some former mourinho favourites:
Ndombele = essien
Son = robben
Kane = Drogba
And I think lo celso could = Oscar

We talked about it to death on here - Poch saying players need time and won’t be ready for months to play. But now Mourinho says similar and gets a free pass. Have I got that right?

I did think the subject was nonsense and players should be able to play straight away if they’re good enough. But if both Poch and Mourinho have said similar then I (and others on here) must be wrong.
There has always been an acceptance that new signings can take time to settle into a new team. That can be moving in the same division but maybe a little longer when changing countries as well.

Fans are very quick to get on players' backs nowadays. If we play a player before he is ready he will look out of his depth or behind the pace. So a manager not playing a new signing straight away is not unusual. Even Everton who are close to the bottom 3 are not playing their £27m Italian international striker.

I got a bit frustrated with Poch as I respected his view of slow integration but too many players didn't appear to really develop 2-3 years later.

I am happy for Jose to integrate Lo Celso slowly but he will want to have some involvement this season.

Mourinho has made it abundantly clear that Dele owns the number 10 spot. Lo Celso is going to have to usurp Moura on the right, challenge Ndombele in the CM role or rotate occasionally with Dele. If we do sign Fernandes, I’d be surprised if we keep him. This doesn’t mean I don’t value him, but how the fuck is he going to get meaningful game time?
