Pochettino just said he's still "so far off where we want him to be" but is training well.

Don't think he'll be in line for a start any time soon. 20 mins against Newcastle would be nice, though.
Jesus, Poch makes it sound like he's about a stone overweight. He can't do any worse than the shitshow last weekend.

Question. Is he unfitter than a host of players that played in the WC, had a couple of weeks hols, returned 3 days before the season begun and started against Newcastle.

The answer is no. Arguably he's way ahead of those. He's had a good rest, he's trained and ALL he needs now is gametime.

Yeah Poch has said before about there being a million miles of difference between being fit to train and being fit to play 90 minutes.

We were still awful though.
you cant judge to much the way we played at city, it was special circumstances; poch knew if we played with attacking style; they would of murdered us, its just that their better than us, so poch did what he had to do to get a result, and we did, we still nearly blew it

So letting them have 30 shots is considered a good thing because we got a point?

it was big point, they were always going to have possession, 30 shots tells you a lot in how good they are, we had two and scored, the called blinding, how many times in games have we had high shots tally without scoring

Do you expect a similar test against Newcastle? Or perhaps the quality of the opposition matters.
City are exceptional but we still were awful. We are capable of matching them on our day, e.g. last season at City in the league and the CL ties.

How many of those were on target? Less than 10 if i recall. How many saves that Lloris made would feature in his top 100? None. It was the reverse of the United game at Wembley. Loads of shots but nothing that a top 8 keeper shouldn’t be able to keep out.

We should not be conceding 30 shots against anyone regardless of the of the opposition, how do people not understand this? I fully get that city are an extraordinary side and were expected to have most of the possession and more attempts on goal but they had TEN TIMES the number of shots we did and that is not in anyway acceptable if we want to push on further and challenge for top spot.

No matter how much people sugar coat it our performance last week was piss poor and we should be playing better than what we did.

Possession was quoted at 55/56/57% so avg 56%

I don't think we parked the bus so much as didn't get it out of the garage.

Resilience and luck.

A lot of teams will be getting battered and demolished by City this season, home and away.

Can't believe after a hard fought point away to the best team around by a country mile people are criticising the performance. We had the odd additional chance, rode our luck, showed incredible resilience and had to cope with loads of pace and KDB having a worldy. Seriously what do you expect against a team with a bench full of £50m players financed by a country?? Reality check needed.
