He's Argentinian - so is Poch!
He plays in midfield - so does Eriksen
He looks good and has good hair - this is a pre-requisite for Spurs
He's New
He's Shiny!
And of course we know lots about his ability.............that's what YOUTUBE is for!!

What more do you want!!? - sheeesh!

And a better goal return for Argentina than Dybala - who needs him anyway!

If sky are correct there’s going to be a lot of punters losing their dosh on this deal.

Are sky reporting this correctly, year loan with an obligation to buy?

That's what others have said. It gets around paying PSG so much of the sell on as the loan fee isnt taken into account. Plus it frees up cash for other players today (which now look unlikely)

Just pay the money FFS Levy!

This would be more of a Betis requirement in my opinion - this way they get a cash injection now without having to give any of the "loan fee" to PSG and then give away 20% of £43m rather than the £59m fee. I think we are doing Betis a favour with this.

Also for all those that bang on that we are only replacing not adding, I disagree. Ndombele can do more than Dembele and Lo Celso could arguably do more than Eriksen and is younger. I'm happy with the business

If Eriksen stays, I see no reason we can't play both of them with Lo Celso dropping deeper.

Hopefully means less frustrating games like Burnley away last season where we couldnt break them down.

Sorry, I was having a sly dig at a section of the membership here that always seem to want Levy to "pay what it takes to get it done" rather than take his time to get the best deal for Spurs. Sometimes I understand the squad integration argument, but in this particular case the player's been on holiday for virtually all of pre-season anyway.

We chased him all summer and there were definite moments we all thought it wouldn’t happen I’m sure. Will be great news for us when he’s announced, on the basis he seems to be poch’s target

I understand the rationale but curious - So why not just give 59m as a loan fee so to speak... then we get him for 'free' next year

Him and Ndombele were the dream back in early June, now it's almost reality.

Yeah, after the CL final there was talk that we are chasing Sess, Ndombele and Lo Celso. Anything more is a bonus, but we're ready to spend.

Crazy that 48 hours ago it was a dead deal until rebrab posted 'not dead'. All that BF and Dybala talk resurrected that deal, hopefully. Great signing, happy for Poch and for us to get him.

Our first choice midfield are all born in 96 and so experienced. Great future ahead of us.

Such a great transfer. Our midfield options last year caused us so many problems.

  • We had to change our formation to accomodate the inadequacies of who we had at our disposal
  • We put pressure on our defence by not having players good on the ball
  • We struggled to break the lines with a pass or a dribble, so key to Poch’s style
  • We dropped Alli into a deeper role where he’s far less effective and can’t get in scoring positions
  • Eriksen, too, as above

The signings of Ndombele and Lo Celso are going to transform our play towards what Poch wants, increase our tactical flexibility, make us a stronger defensive unit and increase the number of chances we create.

It’s superb business.
