That’s my point. I don’t think he’ll want to go on a free either, but I can’t see us getting much more than 60 million for him. Hazard is different because he’s exactly the type of player they need. Obtaining him strengthens them more than getting Eriksen because they’re well stocked in his position so they’ll fork out much more for him
I think with the rising fees even players of Eriksen’s class are going to command hefty fees. I guess we’ll see though. Overall I’m hoping he stays.

The other interesting aspect that’s somewhat going unspoken is that Real don’t actually have as much money as people make out. They actually need to sell some players and get some of these wages (like Bale’s) off the books before they can start making these massive moves for the likes of Eriksen, Hazard, Pogba, etc. That they’re rumoured to be after.

I think if Eriksen goes, we will replace him (and Dembele) with two more rounded players, power & guile in both, spread the creative responsibility around rather than a focal individual. Especially if we move to more of a City’esque 433.
Ultimately Betis will want more than they paid PSG, so cash plus Janssen could be favourable for all parties.

Both Lo Celso and Pochettino are from Argentina, played for clubs in Rosario early in their careers, played for PSG and have won international caps.

So much to bond over; get it done Poch (y)

Still not convinced about this guy. Can be a handful at times but also lacks consistency. If he got serious about football he could be an elite player.

A few Spanish reports floating about that Real Betis are interested in Janssen...

Crap. They’re trying to inflate the price.

Lo Celso for £40m or for £50m plus Janssen

I like the way when he receives the ball he anticipates the tackle and moves it really quickly into space

Reminds me of a certain L Modric. Except this guy has a lot more pace. He could be world class

If Eriksen leaves Lo Celso is high on my list of replacements. I think he would make a good challenge and depth option to Dele and Eriksen even if Eriksen stays but I can't see us affording that with so many other needs.

I think he’s already high on the list regardless of departures!

Ndombele, Lo Celso and Bale would be excellent business.
