That's a really good performance.
I didn't get to see the game but I like to see Gio playing like that, like many of us know he can.
Hopefully he keeps this up and finally proves his worth because he's a very talented player and can suit Ange's style perfectly.
spot on that was a quality performance and expect he’ll only improve with better players around him.

Well no doubt we are going to need Gio to step up now. Some promising signs from him on Sunday so let's see how he does with a proper run in the team.

Love the tight-knitting relationship of the Spanish-speaking players. We are just missing Lamela in there.

One of the things I've noticed with GLC over the years is that he plays better depending on whose around him, the Bentancur injury could really mess him up.

This is his time, he should be first team regular for the next month or so, if he can cement himself as an 8. We need him now more than ever.

Kulusevski was dynamite in that 10 role, so if Bissouma can pick it up, we still have a strong 3. Gil and Johnson need to step up as well.

I just still have a worry about how many we will concede with our CBs out and a less defensive midfield. Sarr contributes a lot more defensively imo.

Infact off the ball we are missing a lot with Richarlison, Sarr and Bentancur not in the team.

We need him to become a leader. He has the talent, let's see if he has the application.

I think you'll find Gio has no problem contributing sufficiently defensively.

I concur and think that Sarr for Gil to let GLC play AM is a safer approach.
I can't see us seeing and holding on to the ball with a Rodri/GLC match-up.
Our system isn't going to work Son scrap-feeding.

Don’t really have much other option tho with Sarr out for another few weeks. I would rather not bring PEH into the mix as that will cause more issues due to his lack of mobility.

I'd rather play Dier at the base of midfield than PEH. Maybe GLC to the left and someone else, maybe even PEH, to the right. Almost all of what Hojbjerg does well is further up the pitch. I know this team doesn't look exciting on paper and not ideal to play Ange's system but in the current situation it might give us a platform to allow the front 3 to attack.

I think we have to be wary to say that Gio would have a medal if ihe played because there are too many variables that go into that. The fact though remains that he's walked back into a worldcup winning side without very much game time.

Also MacAllister is a good player but like most players changing team style and system needs time to adapt
Messi loves him apparently.
