I like Gio he’s a very good player.

But I don’t like his brother. It’s like Dele.

The other side of him.
The one who should have got 3 red cards today, playing so dirty and could harm the team with a stupid mistake.
The one who dives.
And the one who blames everyone but himself.

He needs to cut that shit from his game.

... I’m ready to get spammed by the Gio lovers.

He's from Argentina. That's how they play. See Lamela.

It's about time we had some aggression in midfield again. Fuck Chelsea.

We’ve been fucked over by stamps on at least 4 occasions, been punished for a small bit of petulance (son) and seen Maguire get away with something MUCH worse and yet there are people in here complaining about us getting away with it today?

Maybe those same people thought all of those players should have been punished as well? Should people change their mind about what they think is a red card because one of our players does the same thing? No one wants him banned, but there can be a debate on whether it deserved one.

As it was on that total and utter fake hard, smug face, massive ego prick “Dave” then it’s all good with me!

I suspect they did, yes. If you want my opinion, I personally think it was between a yellow card and a red card. It was unintentional and he was clearly trying to trap the ball without realising Aziplicueta was laying in front of him.

Thats beyond the point though. My argument is that, by ignoring the incidents I mentioned, the PL have set a precedent for what is and isnt a red card. By their own set standards, that is not a red card if the others incidents aren't.

The thing that gets me is they originally said that he had nowhere else to put his foot. It took them about two minutes to work that out. He's got half a second and doesn't have multiple camera angles to look at before he decides.

Yep, I can see that. Consistency between decisions would help everyone. And I agree with you, I don't think he did it intentionally.

I dont know what is a red anymore. wouldnt have complained much if he'd been sent off but it didnt look an intentional stamp either so maybe the ref got it right. I do think its yet another example of how VAR hasnt clarified anything.

Lamela doesn’t dive and whine to the ref.
Lamela doesn’t do reckless challenges like GLC today which would let down the team.

He was clearly trying to drag the ball under the sole of his foot but ashoelaqueata got in the way. The ref on BT said as much. (Even called him Ashoelaqueata :sneaky: )

I didn't see it as a red. You can't judge it on slow motion. It wasn't a stamp, just an unfortunate situation where 2 players go after the ball from different angles. It looks bad in slow motion but it actually wasn't bad because he didn't go in with force in real time. Judge it on real time at normal speed because that's how it's played.

When they first mentioned a red card I thought they were talking about the Chelsea player who looked like he had slid in with a 2 footed tackle which is a red card offense. It was only when the slow mo came in that it looked like gio had done something. Although I don't think he was looking at the leg his focus was in front of him. Had the Chelsea lad not made a 1 footed challenge... Well where else is gio supposed to plant his foot. ??

I love argentine players for this very reason. Skilled as f.. And nasty as f...

My go to team in any world Cup. And maradona is the best player ever. ?

That was so so bad. Deserved three red cards for the challenge. And to think that we think other clubs get all the luck and we dont...

He wont get banned etc but theyll make up for it by sending him off on another occasion

What looks like a stamp can sometimes be the player shifting weight awkwardly trying to take the boot off the player. There was no malice in his action. Sometimes your foot is on its way down but someone gets underneath it quicker!

In slow motion it looks much worse. I can't believe some of your think he was trying to do him. If the challenge from Dave doesn't come in Gio just drags that ball back.
Unfortunately for both parties Azpi's leg got in the way.

You wake up and you see all these stories about VAR ruining the game with Lo Celso at the forefront of them - Where was the furore when this happened the previous times to our players and them being the ones where a player has committed a foul of similar ilk on our player?

You want to know why I was so belligerent after the game yesterday? THIS is why. THIS exact reason.

We've been rinsed this season alone on players getting sent off via VAR and other players getting away with it, and fuck me, the first time we actually get away with one and it's fucking chaos.

Don't talk to me about having scruples surrounding a bent as fuck sport like football.

Lo Celso did get away with one, and you want to know something, it feels fucking good.
