It’s really he needs to be played centrally - whether that is at No.10 or in CM. He’s just not as effective out wide.

A large loan fee before the permanent transfer has gotten Betis just short of £4m extra after the 30% sell on owed to PSG. Creative

Nice to have a player that is consistently good, and not world class one week then a make a wish player the next three...

Will be an interesting conundrum for Jose when Tanguy like Gio proves his quality, as both our summer signings are probably #8s and a pivot of Lo Celso-Ndombele is probably too offensive. Therefore the only way to put them both in the team is to either force Gio out wide (where he's less effective) or play a 4-3-3 with both central. However, if we did the latter then Dele would either have to be dropped or moved to false 9/out wide. Will be interesting to see what Jose does as I think Ndombele and Lo Celso are both incredible acquisitions and are probably both too good to be benched.

Hopefully Jose can find a way to fit him, ndombele and fernandes in the team, could be special
Would be interesting to see a midfield three of the above in a 4-3-3. Despite all three perhaps being natural 8s, there is arguably enough defensive tenacity and offensive creativity between them for it to work. Before Fabinho arrived, Liverpool played a midfield three which had no recognised 6, so it can be done.

Options are great though. We have too many number 8s though. It's crazy. Particularly as personally I think a n8 is Winks' best position.

Mourinho has proven he is not afraid to change his mind on players. If Ndombele gets fitter and gets a good run of performances in until the end of the season then Jose will be strongly considering a switch to 4-3-3 with Alli's place under threat.

Yep, we obviously need a dm but if Lo Celso is to be considered an 8 I’m starting to think our attack is in more need of reinforcement than our midfield. Lucas isn’t good enough to be a consistent starter and Lamela still flatters to deceive more often that not. I think we need another wide forward/winger option this summer based off Jose’s work with the system so far.

You see, another option would be good. But I'm happy there as well. The main issue is we need someone to really give us structure, and we also need to be coached that way. The forward line did well without a striker, they just didn't take their chances and we struggle to get hold of games in midfield.

We need another holding midfielder. Maybe even two, we need a few more options fullback and then we will instantly see our attack improve too. It is all about finding the right structure and balance.

He's only played a dozen or so games and started only half that while improving game after game. All that in a little over 6 months in completely new surroundings - a different (if not the toughest) league, new language and country. And he's only 23.

I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say that we have a potential world class player on our hands.

I think he would play Alli off the left and Son off the right.

I have rated Lo Celso to the hill and back and knew he would come good. I sincerely hope we pony up in the last few days for him, or else I would be extremely concerned that he will be someone else's player come next season, as I could not fathom Levy paying more for him in the summer.

Like others have said, I think he is wasted out wide, and that was evident today when Lamela came on and he went more central. If Jose's balls were big enough, I'd drop Alli and give Lo Celso a run in his position. Alli needs to know that his place is not a guarantee. I could easily see how Lo Celso fits in a team that works with both a 3 man midfield and a two in midfield, as Lo Celso in the central playmaking role further up the field.

Lo Celso has a lot more to his game than Eriksen, which makes him such a unique player to have - fingers xd Levy ponies up now!
