We all want Lo Celso to play and we all want Ndombele when fit to play. Issue is, right now there’s only one spot for them at best because we’re not changing the front four any time soon. The manager is clearly going to play a front four, it’s been his formation in every match. He’s openly stated he sees Ndombele as a midfielder, he’s not said the same for Lo Celso. I take it nobody here would put the two together in CM, so next we look at where they can play.

Ndombele, well he could probably partner any of our current midfielders once he is up to speed. Really we all know that a DM is needed to partner him. He’s injured right now, so it’ll be two of Winks, Dier and Sissoko. Lo Celso isn’t displacing any of Kane, Son or Dele in the near future, and shuffling them around while on form to accommodate an unproven Lo Celso positionally would be mental, so I think his only chance of become a starter any time soon is by showing he can play off the right. Might not be ideal, but if it was good enough for Modric and Iniesta during the same stage of their development, it’s good enough for him. Otherwise, he needs to pray we sell Eriksen and don’t replace in January, as Eriksen is currently playing understudy to Dele and that’s Lo Celso’s best position in this system and this league as it stands.

You can see his ability just by some of his first touches, even against Munich, but we aren’t sacrificing Dele for a three man midfield any time soon and Kane, Son, Dele and Lucas in that order are giving Mourinho performances right now, while even Sessegnon has pushed ahead of him I imagine.
I don't see why Ndombele Lo Celso can't play in a pivot both are technically good Lo Celso has a rugged tenacious edge and did play that role at PSG. As it stands our midfield selection of Dier Sissoko Winks needs to improve against Bayern it was pretty bad

Id of been slightly pi**** off too the other night if i were him. Got his chance to show what he can do and he gets thrown out wide where he had vwry few options once on the ball. Instead you have eriksen playing centrally (a player who wants out) in the position lo celso wants and needs to show his worth. He was always on a hiding to nothing once we saw the 2 teams on paper. Despite that i think he showed with his touches and vision that he has top quality but not the match fitness to go hard v a rampant bayern side. He should have been central.

Eriksen should be dropped, permanently, and GLC, Sessegnon and Parrott should be our attacking options from the bench.

I get what you are saying but Jose, and Poch before him, value players who can fulfil multiple roles. He's got to grab his chance whenever he can, it's not like he was played as a defender or anything.

I mean, this is early and I'm in no way saying this is the case, but sometimes a league, club or country and a player don't fit and the move doesn't work our for whatever reason.

We'll just have to wait and see. Let's hope he does find his feet as he's clearly talented and why not let our club exploit that talent.

Still only on loan so will have to do something pretty remarkable in the next few months to get a permanent move. Unless Levy gets him for next to nothing!!

Please god Levy, buy him in Jan, so we don’t have to put up with the ‘hE’ll bE sENt baCk to BetIS’ nonsense any longer.

Feel like a lot of this ridiculous flak he’s getting after one poor CL game is down to people feeling like he doesn’t belong to us.

Lo Celso is a Spurs player. Get behind him, give him time, and get a grip.

At the least he's a valuable asset going forwards and hey, just maybe he'll settle down, start getting some playing time. We're hardly in a disaster zone here. Just bloody frustrating so far.

I mean he should be starting in midfield if Ndombele isn't available, and eventually they should be starting together with someone else. No wonder our midfield gets smashed in the middle when we keep playing players who aren't good on the ball in there.

When you say midfield do you mean the two in front of the defence because I cant imagine GLC and Ndombele as a two (not in Joses mind anyways)

It’s an obligation to buy...

What does that actually mean?

If Jose doesn’t fancy him do we still have to buy him because if Jose identifies another player and that money can go towards his man then....

Poch wanted him. Unless we see a big improvement in his mentality I’m sure as hell that Jose will not

We HAVE to buy him if we qualify for the CL, it's in the contract.
