Spurs having an obligation to buy at a specific price in the future does not mean the transfer is set in stone and *will* happen regardless of eventualities. The player can, I would expect, chose not to sign permanently. I mean obviously right now he as a long term contract with Betis and a loan contract with Tottenham, that has to be the case or there's no "loan". So the player has to be onboard at the point in the future of trying to make the deal permanent, I would assume.

I find it extremely unlikely that Levy would agree to pay a reported £15m loan fee when the player can still vito the permanent deal.

What if he got tapped up with a better offer?

Can you see us risking paying £15m for one season, whilst developing a player for another club?

We structured the deal this way to help lower Betis' 20% sell on clause to PSG.

So I expect the player is already committed to a long term contract, subject the known CL clauses.

We think a lot of him as a player at the club and we will give him the platform he requires to succeed.
He is well regarded by all including Jose and definitely not looking to give back.
Hope this helps clear up our thinking as it stands today. :)

Thanks JJ for the positive info. It's great to hear from you but at the risk of sounding like your mother, we don't hear often enough from you.

Good points. Very much hope this is the case.

This. The fact that Dele has shown the biggest improvement overall under Jose means that we can take our time with Lo Celso. It’s not as if we’re struggling to create chances ( apart from Utd).

I think Dele’s change back to a no. 10, Ndombele’s creative potential and Lo Celso means we can let Eriksen go and if we get anything for him in Jan use the money for other positions.

If we get a packet of crisps and perhaps a loose fag or two for him I'd be well chuffed, though I'm not expecting a return of that magnitude as obviously I don't think he's worth quite that much.

Thank you JJ. For me it is crucial that he finds his place in this team. What I mean by that is that he has played in quite a few positions in his time at PSG and in Spain. I am not knocking his versatility but I think this needs to be cemented.
Would he be better off playing in a midfield three or part of a double pivot ? I have no idea ? We might get a much better idea after Wednesday !

I am really hoping he proves to be a great signing, but one thing I will say is that in the videos of our bench and coaching staff which all went viral because of Son's goal against Burnley, Lo Ceslo's body language didn't look great. I know it must be frustrating for him to be sitting out right now, but if I am Mourinho and look across to my bench that would bother me.

Oh here we go again....body language experts.

As long as he's not showing dissent the only thing Jose will care about is how he's training.

I love this kind of thing. This first started with Jan Vertonghen in the AVB era - A group of people who thought Jan should be sold cos he wasn't happy all the time. Good times.

Jan’s body language dropped like the rest of the squads did under Sherwood. It progressively got worse with Sherwood. Luckily Ade was firing because things could have gotten real bad real quick.

People specifically targeted Jan though, in an angry way. People used to say that he should just fuck off, etc.

The guy wasn't happy losing. Let's get rid of the people who hate losing - and keep all the players who will smile and give great body language even when we're shit. Good logic.

Interesting what I have seemed to kick off :) To clarify, I want Los Ceslo to become a world beater at Spurs and hopefully he can start tonight…

When I saw the Burnley bench footage his body language seemed to me to be a little negative, and amongst all the subs he looked the least interested (and he was sitting next to Eriksen at the time!). I am not claiming to be an expert, and I have nothing against the player, I was merely curious if others had seen it and felt the same way.

Likely I am completely misinterpreting the scene, which I hope so. Because it does matter how players react to being benched, and it does matter how they conduct themselves around the squad and their overall mindset. It may not matter as much as how they perform in training, but players who consistently show a really great attitude and accept that they are part of a bigger picture will certainly be appreciated by their manager. Lucas for example has always been exemplary in this regard.

I have no idea about Lo Ceslo or how he is reacting. I have no idea if he was just sitting slumped and cross armed because it was cold. What I do know is that he hasn’t yet convinced either manager to play him regularly, despite the fact that he is immensely talented and despite the fact that our most pressing needs are in midfield. We have also invested a lot in him, so I really want this to work.

I get that this situation couldn’t really suck much more for him. He took a big step to join a new club, move to a new country and no doubt the Pochettino connection was a major factor. He gets injured for a few months and then Poch gets the boot. He seems to have slipped further down the pecking order under Mourinho, so I would totally understand why he would be the most frustrated of the subs.

For a young guy in these circumstances it will not be easy to keep positive, keep giving everything, and when I saw the footage my response was simply to fear that he may be slipping in the other direction. I very much hope he proves me wrong!

Poor showing tonight, lacked effort and did very little tracking back. Showed a couple of glimpses going forward but nothing to write home about.
