I don't think anybody has judged Lo Celso as a player in a negative sense, nor that the discussion is about whether or not he is *good*.
The discussion that at least I'm having is about whether or not he *should play* (now/for Tottenham/under Mourinho).
So how does it work - you'll reach a conclusion and let Mourinho know your decision?

One or two hasty comments on here - there's been so much sea-change at Spurs recently, injuries included. Mourinho has already stated Lo Celso is adapting to a new language and culture and style and all the rest of it. Just give it time. The guy is one of the best players around.

I’m just struggling to see how he gets in a Mourinho 4231 when all fit. I think the preferred CM will be Ndombele with Dier/Winks or a new DM. Then the only spot up for grabs is wide right and I think he really loves Moura and you still have lamela and Sissoko fighting for that spot let alone Eriksen short term. He’d be a fantastic squad player but I can’t see him settling for that.

By the sounds of it, there hasn't been much time for proper training yet, with three weeks straight with midweek games, he won't have had tonnes of time to get much of a look at players. And in order to get results quickly, he's played players who are familiar with each other. Bedding Lo Celso in at the same time would be hard work, he's been an unfortunate casualty in that respect. We know the class he has, and can show, so I'm sure as and when things settle down he'll find his position and get chances.
This is it really. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessgnon, Parrott, KWP and Foyth will get their chances. Jose has had to come in and steady a ship about to capsize.

As he gets more time with the squad these players will get greater opportunities. We have got some real talent at the club, we just have to give Jose time to work out how to use it all effectively.

That’s why it’s good to sign players in early for pre-season but that never seems to happen for us.
Nowadays with all the football and games being played Friday to Monday it’s must be hard having a set training schedule.
Not like the old days every game Saturday at 3pm.

I think it is very evident that Mourinho already is agreeing with me, so your sarcasm is very misplaced and mainly showcases a flair for hollow unreasonableness. Either that or I just can't handle a bit of facetious humour.
I won't have that! As a matter of fact, it matters not one wit what we think anyway. Mourinho will decide when and if GLC deserves a place in the side.

If you won't have shallow unreasonableness, then call me a radical thinker but seems like the easiest way for you stop that is to not be shallow and unreasonable.
And if that's your stance, why are you moronically singling one poster out? Why not quote every single poster who says that he must start in PL. Or maybe you just find perverse joy in being an insufferable hypocrite.

You are reading way too much into it. It was just an attempt at humour. Life is way too serious at times. If people want to have a little bit of fun about one of my posts then they can feel free. By the way, I agree with your sentiments - GLC hasn't proven anything yet.

Again, the key thing to remember about the Lo Celso deal is that Spurs have purportedly already paid a massive loan fee of 13+ million and can complete the deal for a further 27 million pounds this winter. Why wouldn't Levy just trigger the purchase clause and flip him next summer, even if he wasn't wanted by Mourinho? This is player with a continental reputation. I'm pretty certain Simeone would take him at Atletico, and we'd probably make a profit on the deal. They were interested in him in the summer and are having a lot of trouble creating chances without a clear playmaker.

I'd just be stunned if Levy just opted to decline the purchase price, and the club absorbed a 13 million pound loss on a loan fee.

I don't know the specifics of the deal but I would imagine that Lo Celso would need to sign a permanent deal contract if we signed him in January. If that's the case, I can see a scenario where he wouldn't want to sign because he's not getting any time on the pitch.

I think a contract deal in that scenario is agreed when player is signed on loan.

City play with about 8 technical 'passing midfielders' whereas none of Liverpool's attackers or midfielders are of the Eriksen/Lo Celso variety.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.
Sure, but we don't have the full backs Liverpool do. Without them, we depend more on our midfield.

I was thinking about this the other day. Was it Jose who sold KDB and Salah at Chelsea? I can't remember now.
I do find this a bit unfair though tbh. KDB was obviously a talent but Chelsea had Oscar in his position who was quality. Salah was absolute gash at Chelsea as well

I think that he will be rotating with Dele and Lucas in the long run and will occupy one of those two roles midweek vs Bayern.

Yesterday would've been ideal for him at 3-0, but once we made it 5, the game was just a glorified training session. That's why Sessegnon, Skipp and Parrott got on, it was minutes for young players and a Premier League debut for Parrott. GLC was likely already going to be starting against Bayern so to send him out in a game that was already meandering at the risk of injury was not the right decision.

Jose et al need to see him in a competitive scenario, 5-0 yesterday was not that.

Is this a period drama or the Spurs Chat forum? I find it quintessentially disingenuous and beg you to stop sir.

If you want to make up for lost time due to your short and thin manlyhood, the normal way to do that is to buy a cheap convertible sports car and dote on platina blonde first year students. But if you prefer to compensate by sitting in your couch in your dark and untidy living room and be “funny” on the internet, then be my guest.

Agree in general about getting new players in early for Pre season, but it’s a mute point regarding GLC because he was away on international duty for most of the close season.

sure.
But with Lo Celso we got him as soon as he was back from his rest after Copa America. And Sess was injured so makes no difference. I agree with the general point, but it has no bearing on those transfers
