Hang on a minute guys lets wait and see who we get and when before we start planning formations. Remember we have been disappointed so many times before. Also with so many MF it does mean that some of the guys coming through are unlikely to get games and we could lose them over the next 12 months or so and they are our future. As we have found out in the past these foreign signings have a good season and the likes of RM and BC come calling and they're off,

Bristol City?

Pretty certain the talk was that Poch could spend the champions league revenue without selling which was about that figure

Yeah, heard Martin Lipton (Sun and Spurs fan) on TalkSport at the start of the window and he said he fully expected there to be a net spend of £90m. Usual caveats but Lipton tends not to be a bullshitter and has contacts at Tottenham.

I’m sure someone has answered this over the past 236 pages, but it’d be pot luck to find the correct page, so where would Lo Celso play in our system?

Part of the front 3 or alongside NDombele and a DM?

You'd have to be real lucky to find one of the 234 pages hidden amongst all 236 to find discussion on this subject.

Can play either, and will probably switch between the two fluidly throughout a game - which is why he’d be such a great signing for us

Being accused of something doesn't make it true (although I don't believe @Yiddo1982 was directing this accusation at you). Your comment was clearly said in jest; a playful prod at another user but not remotely akin to bullying.

That said, it was off topic (much like the majority of this thread), so perhaps it's best deleted for that reason.

You’re right, I wasn’t particularly aiming that at your comment. I just think Ron, despite occasionally causing debate, gets a lot more in the neck than anyone else, and we don’t want anyone to be uncomfortable. We are all Spurs after all.

And I can’t put every poster that’s had a pop at him on ignore because that’s just ridiculous.

Anyway, back to our new little wizard, GLC ??

He started off as a more advanced player at PSG but played in central midfield for Betis last year to great effect, so in theory he'd be able to occupy the 8/10 roles. Great competition for Eriksen (if he stays) plus another option in CM.

Here we go
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f...-Giovani-Lo-Celso-Ryan-Sessegnon-deals-latest

Lo Celso is pushing hard to join Spurs and it is understood Real Betis have finally signalled a willingness to lower their asking price.

The 23-year-old has a release clause of £88m and Betis had been holding out for at least £68m after rejecting Tottenham’s opening bid.

But it is understood a compromise is close to being reached which will see Lo Celso join Spurs for a fee between £54m and £60m.

That would represent a victory for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, a notoriously tough negotiator who has always insisted he would not pay over the odds for the player.

Sources in Spain expect Lo Celso to fly to London for a medical this week if a fee is finally agreed.
