Lo Celso has now scored more league goals this season than all his Spurs seasons combined

Boy can’t stop

So that's what happens when you play players in their best position! Who would have guessed.

In all seriousness, sometimes you need to sign players for the system you want to play, and get managers who want to play a system to suit the players. I think it was too late once Ange arrived.

He didn’t suit what Ange wanted, great technical player but just didn’t fit. Glad he is smashing it at Betis, he obviously feels at home and it the main guy for them.

I think he does suit Ange's football. I thought he was really good when he played last season. He'd be fantastic for us now. I think it was probably something as simple as the club not being willing to give him a new deal due to his previous injury and rumoured attitude issue's and therefore Ange not really wanting to build with him in the team.

Sometimes the right decision seems wrong.

Thought there were itk at the time that the club and the player were both keen on a new contract, it’s Ange that didn’t want it to happen.

I'd much rather have Kulusevski in that number 8/10 position than Lo Celso. Kulusevski is twice the player imo (as good as Lo Celso is)

Twice the player is a bit ridiculous. Kulu doing great this season and he's adapted well to the new role in Ange’s system but let’s not pretend he was anything but pretty average last year. Horses for courses GLC was key to Villareal getting to CL semi, regular for the world champions Argentina, used correctly GLC is top drawer in same way Kulu now seems to be thriving through the centre.

In this league…. Kulu is the better player. Aside from his skill he runs hard for 100 mins a match, has a big physical presence, rarely injured. All areas where Lo Celso was ultimately lacking for us despite his quality

I remember there was ITK that Gio never settled in the UK and genuinely disliked living there. Being settled and loving life is important, no matter what you do.

Happy we got rid, but also happy he's doing well as he was clearly always a quality player.
