Surprised this hasn't been shared:

The club put up a video of every one of his PL goals for the club (so far).

Watching this now myself and what I wasn't expecting was I completely forgot Ray Wilkins on commentary and now I miss that bloke. God damn it. ?

Remember most of those goals so well, but watching the first half of the video my overriding thought is I really miss that Redknapp team.

Apart from Bale obviously, Modric and VDV in particular. Even Lennon.

That’s sadly been the theme with Spurs throughout my time supporting them over the last 35 years.

A long list of superb players, but often not enough of them at the same time.

Just nuts how many of those goals were just...shift it to work a foot of space and send it from 20-30 yards. I can't remember another player anywhere scoring so many goals like that off of one foot over a couple of seasons. They all knew the only thing that he wanted to do and they still couldn't do anything about it.

Even if he loses a yard to beat a man as he gets on, I'd sell organs to watch him just shift it and spank another couple in top bins. Hopefully that's the last thing to go. His first goal back is going to feel nuts, especially if it's one of those.

Saw a stat earlier that Ibrahimovic (who scored two tonight) has scored more goals since turning 30 than before it. You never know what we could have if Bale sticks around and can still work those bits of space.

Not to be too much of a pedant, but it helps when you go to America for two years and bag almost a goal per appearance. He is, however, still scoring at a respectable rate in Italy at 38 (soon to be 39), which is incredible.

I, too, am optimistic that Bale will age well.

Comments from Barnett this morning suggest the 2nd year isn't "done" per se but is very much there if all parties want it.

As I said rolling one year contract. As long as Bale and ourselves want to continue, he will stay for the second year until his Madrid contract runs out
