Jim White wants to make a story out of it for clicks. Where's the fun for them to say 'it's all done and dusted but won't be officially announced until Friday'?
Cause it isn't done and dusted - though it does sound like it's v close to being done ??

Well if you want some optimism that Romano is wrong; 600k a week does not equal 17 million euros a year

I know he hasn't played much recently for RM but has anyone watched him when he has and/or for Wales and able to comment on his current performance levels? Does he still have the same pace, the same rocket shot that he did when was with us?
No he doesn’t have the same pace. He’s got enough to beat a man still but he won’t be tearing across half the pitch leaving defenders in his wake like he did in his first spell with us. His left foot is still magic as well. Is last couple outings with Wales he was quiet since he’s barely played this year but the quality is still there.

How would you describe the long term strategy that left our squad riddled with average or past it players, out on it's knees and short in several positions?
More serious reply to the above than my earlier one:- Its is actually astonishing, how bad the squad had gotten.
What is incredible is the amount of players we are getting in if the ITK is to be believed.
In 2 windows
Bergwyn
Lo Celso (permanent)
Fernandes

Hart HG
Hojbjerg
Doherty

Bale HG
Regullion

Ramsey. HG

Centre forward
Centre half

That could be 8 players in this window... a whole new team under Jose, remarkable

I'm not sure about current levels, however, Giggsy hauled him off in the last Wales game I believe.

There’s a few examples of players contracts online. I don’t want SC sued so won’t post a link to one I’ve found. If you do a search and find one involving a PL player you’re see how much there is to go over and that’s just the player’s contract. There will also be an agreement for sale that has to be signed off. This isn’t a straight forward deal so will take a while. The lawyers too will be earning their corn and they never move quickly. Agents will also want to make sure they’re getting their money.

At last the man has spoken!

See, i tend to find that's usually when things start to go south. If his form on Talksport is anything to go by, he's going to be reacting like this is the first time he's heard of Bale, the transfer window or maybe even Spurs, come to that. He's such a drama queen.

He’s on 600k before tax in Spain. Romano is most likely quoting what he takes home after tax.

Yeah but Madrid would still be forking out the 600k regardless of the tax Bale pays on it wouldn't they.

Who knows to be honest. I’m sure how his wage will be taxed since he’ll be being paid by two different companies in two different countries will be one of the complexities they have to navigate. Whether that affects his base wage I don’t know.
