What empirical, statistical evidence do you have that substantiates your claim?
Him writing loads of articles which prove to be untrue and the Daily Express generally being full of shit both sport-wise and non-sport-wise?

I keep insisting this is never going to happen. The financials are too complex. Then, last night, pissed up and bored, I crunched the financials. Bare with me now:

Bale has two and a half years left on his contract. He is paid 600,000 pound/euros (too pissed to check) a week, which after tax comes to approximately 350,000 pounds.

Bale earns 350,000 a week. So he stands to receive 45.5 million pounds in that time.

600,000 x 130 (weeks) = 78 million pounds

Bale earns 350,000 a week. So he stands to receive 45.5 million pounds in that time. But Real have to fork out 78 million.

That’s a lot of money for a player they don’t want.

They might as well give him away in the hope they clear the 78 million it’s going to cost them to keep him there.

So, imagine we strike a deal where we take Bale gratis.

We pay him the same as Kane: approximately 200,000 a week for two and a half years.

200,000 x 130 = 26 million.

Then we pay Bale 20-25 million signing on fee. After tax, he might be down some, but he’s back in the game at a club he has mutual affection for with a manager he’s thrived under. Maybe it could happen?

But probably not
You’re right!!!
You’re pissed and bored.

A few reasons why this probably won't happen.

From Real Madrid's perspective:. He is still probably their most famous player, hazard has not been a success and Benzema has never been too popular.

He is still a first team player (when fit)

Without him, name me a galáctico in that RM team.

The manager is not too keen, but if you watch RM, imo he is probably still the best attacking player they have. (Throw stats at me all you want, watch the games, he is class)

If they do need to get him off the books, who are they going to sign, until they sign Neymar or mbappe then why sell your most famous player and receive little or no money for him anyway.

From the bale side: He is playing for the biggest team on the planet, in his eyes he is probably the best in that team.

He is earning a huge wage packet, that at best spurs could only match.

He is probably settled in Spain by now with his family.

The fans don't like him, but if I was a RM player I wouldn't give a shit as the RM fans are well known to be complete bell ends.

He has a good chance of winning something this season at RM

So if you're Gareth Bale or Real Madrid why oh why would you go through with the transfer?

The Spurs fans love him but only if GB was overly sentimental about spurs will he go.

And let's face it if he has been following spurs for the last year and actually watched our games what possible reason could he have to go?

Does he want to go back to playing Europa, challenge for the top 4? Why would that appeal to him?

Only from a spurs perspective does it make sense and even then I am not sure if we have the financials to cover it.

That’s not evidence at all. Have many of his articles have you read? How many of them haven’t been true? Do you have any actual evidence or are you just another SC community member that believes that have the inside scoop on almost every sports journo in the UK and how reliable they are?

And why should we believe what you say? How reliable are you? ??

Neil isn’t my dad, so I obviously can’t confirm what info he actually gets (my guess is he gets none).

But whatever, believe everything if you want to. I’ve been posting reports onto here for 7 years, so I‘m quite confident I know who is a bullshitter and who isn’t.

I could be wrong, but isn't the Express published by same publishers as the Daily Star these days? In which case I take anything they say with a pinch of salt, as the stories tend to be in both papers but with longer words in the express, than the Daily Star?

You can have a rag newspaper, whose journalism is pro-Farage made-up stories about immigrant jingoism, but still has excellent sports writers.

You make good points. But Real Madrid are definitely under pressure to sell. I live in Madrid and literally have yet to meet a Madrid fan who doesn't want him gone. I also think you are overstating his importance to the team.

Contrary to what you say he has been patchy this season and while Benzema is not maybe popular outside of Madrid he is incredibly popular inside it, and also has been far and away their best attacking player this season.

Wont happen for many reasons. But, take it from me, while Perez may not be doing everything in his power to sell him, Madrid will be more than willing to sell as long as valuations are met. The latter point is a bit important as Madrid need the money.

As a matter of interest is Bale injured at present as he is not even on the bench tonight?

He's too expensive and that's it. Look at manu and arsenal paying for Sanchez and Özil something like 400k/w, and what happened? Levy ain't doing that, and rightly so.
