Maybe next season but I absolutely cant see Lamela moving on. He's one of Jose's trusted players. I've also never seen a player look so average STARTING a match but when he comes on around the 70th minute, hes an absolute fucking shit house who seems to create lots for the team.

Personally if the argument is that Lamela takes up a non HG spot, i'd be looking to sell Gazzaniga first then bringing in someone like Joe Hart or Ben Foster

agree re: the keepers but his contract situation means we won't get very much for him next year with 1 year left on his contract. this is the peak time to sell him.

Im a huge huge Coco fan, he is our soldier, fights and gives his all, his passion too, I would hate to see him go. However, although id prefer him to stay it might be time for him to go, we need a refresh too and I dont believe he has ever fulfilled his talent and potential, with injuries being a huge factor in this. My only gripe is that his influence attacking wise isnt there on a consistent basis when he is fit, his decision making and holding on to the ball for too long is his downside which doesnt look like he can change now and his goal scoring contribution is not ideal. From a financial point taking in his age at 28 it might be the best time to get the maximum we will ever get for him and refreshing the squad for us is imperative for us at the moment, so might be the perfect juncture for him to leave.

I will miss you Coco, thank you for what you given to the club and fans and wish you all the best if you do leave.

Everyone loves him because he’s a nut job and puts a shift in. Literally imagine if he didn’t!!!! Amount of times he gets into a good position and holds onto the ball to long and fucks it up is ridiculous. He’s been here 7 years and only played just over 150 matches. He’s an attacking player whose best goal return in the PL is 5!!!!! Doesn’t contribute anywhere near enough goals or assists he’s injury waiting to happen and he’s upgradeable

per minute his stats average 15-20 g/a a season which is pretty good. In any case, output is overrated, massively overrated.

I love him and feel as though he is always one step away from becoming the player we had hoped for. In games where others lack that desire he has shown it in abundance.
I feel we have stuck by him and he has given his all to us and so if its natural progression and Jose has some one else lined up I'll go with the flow.
Fits into the same category as Sandro for me, sort of!

I just think he's lacks a bit of pace to play wide and in the center he's not quite at the level of the top play makers. I wish we were linked to Isco. I just don't get the suggestion that he's past it. He still looks really good to me. Lamela out, Isco in would be great business in my opinion. I'd love to see Lo Celso and Isco in the same team. We probably can't afford Isco's wages though and he's been linked with Juve.

I remember vividly when he arrived as part of the "magnificent 7". Such expecations, such high hopes, and he never really done it for us. The rabona was good though. So many injuries.

If we can get rid now, it's probably best for all.

Lamela has some very good things that he does. Pressing, flicks and his intensity.
We have a whole bunch of players up front. Bergwjin I like a lot. His control, his eye for a pass, his shot also works hard. Dele tremendously talented but doesn't make enough of an impact directly to be a game changer and he should.
Son who is amazing at times and others his timing is way off. Lucas like Son only does it sometimes but better recently. So with all this talent we don't create enough chances for Kane and others.
On the counter with an open field they are all masterful but in traffic often the first touches are not greatand we revert to recycling. With Hojbjerg defending maybe Lo Celso and NDombele will have licence to create and these players up front will all find a benefit. Up to now it's been hit and miss

He's not deadwood and has something to offer the squad, but I certainly wouldn't be against selling him. We need more homegrown numbers and we don't know when he's next going to be spending a prolonged period of time in the physio room.

Hopefully we can wheel and deal our way to a RB and second striker to do our core business early. Then we can see what money we get for players like Lamela and hopefully Sissoko to bring in another attacking player.

If you told me we'd sell Lamela and Sissoko to fund a move for David Brooks for example then i'd take that all day long.

Coco was bought very much as a Bale replacement. We were all beyond excited at the prospect of him tearing it up for Spurs as he had the previous season for Roma - creating and scoring goals for fun. The big doubt about him was whether he was tough enough for the Premier League and whether he would put enough of a shift in.

Strange how things work out. The things we hoped from him, he never really delivered. The things we doubted of him, he proved us completely wrong.

Lamela when on tour with Roma after he was bought by us. He played in Toronto.Pjanic was sensational but Lamela played more like he plays for us. Sometimes effective, sometimes not but rarely any kind of game changer. He has helped us though. But for me him and Dele etc don't do enough with their talents. I think ball quality is there, decisions by Lamela are not always the best.

I know Ill get shit for this but I think he is the most over-rated Spurs player since I got satellite TV and starting watching the games again 15 years ago. I like him fine but he just never panned out.

Ironically, if we sold Lamela, we might be able to afford enough of Bale's salary, so that Madrid would loan him to us. Even at 31 Bale is way faster than Lamela, much more dangerous from FK's, better in the air and much more of a threat from distance. Both Lamela and Bale have 2 years left on their contract, so if we sold Lamela (who i guess in on around 80k p/w) for 14 mio and loaned Bale at 200k p/w, financially we'd be no worse off than if we keep Coco and his contract runs down.

7 years he's been here, it's time for us to move on from him. I value his contribution but he's 28, injury prone, not a starter and has 2 years left on his contract. If there are any takers, let's get a decent fee, move him on and then look for a quality replacement.

£22m for Barisic would be an incredibly poor bit of business, imo. He’s not £22m worth of player and, at 27, he’s not likely going to be.

For his own benefit Erik should move to a slower league. He's phenomenally lacking in pace now. Almost ridiculously so.

You don't have to be that fast if you're brain works fast. Lamela's unforunately rarely does. He's always taking too many touches.
