None of us are paying his wages and he’s always a passionate player who gives his all and has underrated quality. He never quite lets us down like other revered players of ours. As long as he’s willing to stay I say we keep him.
He consistently lets us down. Its not his own personal fault but his injury history absolutely lets us down. Its time to move him, he's taking up wages & doesn't make a big enough impact in my opinion for us to justify continue to wait around for him to come back every season.

I'm saying all of this as a huge Lamela fan but its been past due.

I have been a huge Lamela supporter. I believe he has a top attitude and his work rate does wonders for the pressing game.

But overall he just doesn't deliver, largely down to the injuries. But even if fit right now I would struggle to see where he fits in.

He's the only fucker that gets slaughtered for bad performances he had no part in. He's injury prone as fuck, but what a strange time to start moaning about him after 11 men on the pitch served that utter shitshow yesterday.

I think that's a bit of an overbite china. It all kicked off because someone asked where he was.

Why should people's posts be time sensitive?

If we criticise someone after a poor performance it is knee-jerk. If we say someone overall isn't good enough after a good performance it is always looking for the negatives. If we criticise someone when someone else has played poorly it is an agenda as other players at this time are more deserving of criticism.

We have a new manager which is a new beginning for some players. There is a lot of talk at the moment as to what formation the manager will favour and which players will thrive and which players will fail.

I like Lamela but don't see a future for him here. Should I have waited until tomorrow to share this opinion on a discussion board about our players?

Christ. Before even looking at who agreed with your post, I could have bet my house on who it would be.

The only reason people are moaning is because they know he'd make a difference if he was fit - surely I'm not the only one smart (and handsome) enough to realise the irony in that?

In general, I agree that we should move him on now as he isn't fit enough and for 50% of the season it's a waste of a squad space - but this thread is the one that is constantly bumped when he doesn't play. Dier's thread wasn't bumped incessantly when he was injured, Lloris' hasn't been, Davies' won't be even though he's on his third/fourth long-term injury with us - but he didn't come with the hefty price tag so isn't held to the same standard.

There is something specific about Lamela that irks people, even when he's not involved in the reason people are pissed off (the United performance). This isn't @ you - because you don't do it as far as I've seen, but he has an active portion of our fanbase that cannot stand him and actively seek out reasons to cry about him.

Edit - having said that, I can see what @Spurs_Bear is saying - this started by somebody saying we needed him and I've gone off on one. That's just who I am, lads. Deal with it.

The sooner we can get rid the better. A stiff breeze could put this guy out of action.

I wish the rest of our squad had Lamela's attitude and fight. Sadly though injuries have wrecked his career, and even when he's fit he doesn't really deliver goals or assists.

Ruled out again  Its not even the fact that he’s always injured, it’s how it’s always occurs when he’s not playing a game & it rules him out for months !

I feel bad for him but this league and the intensity of it and the way he plays is no good for his fragile body. A move back to Serie A would be good for him. Hopefully he gets back soon as i feel Jose will like him as a player.

Would probably like his attitude but would absolutely hate the way he squanders possession so frequently. Look it’s all a bit of a moot point as the guy can’t get on the pitch for any length of time before disappearing for a couple of months. Get him gone and get somebody we can call upon.

Wow! Up until his recent injury he was most in form and consistent player, that was making our woeful start of the season more palatable. But how easily we forget. Typical
