Also if we're deciding that Lamela is one of the ones that needs to go, I'd say if he's the cut off point that leaves us with about 9 players who would be worth keeping. think it's ridiculous to suggest Lamela would be on the chopping block, he's a fantastic squad player.

The assist that picked out Son was inch perfect. Played that perfectly. He took his time assessed his options and selected the right one and executed it perfectly.

Ndombele probably has the mantle now but Lamela for several years has been the best player at finding those angled short ground passes into space for a player to run onto. His passing range isn't as good as Eriksen or Kane's --- you won't see him switching the play or going over the top but when you have speed and players bombing forward as yesterday we did he's the man who unlocks them. The 2015-16 team was very fun to watch because it was youthful and lively with Lamela a key player. It's one of the reasons I have been wanting to see a return of 4-2-3-1 with Son and Lucas either side of Lamela and Kane up top for a long time.

Anyone see how he did for the cross for Brighton's first? Absolutely pathetic.
Can't believe he did that in the 3rd minute of a game after we have just been hammered 7-2 and for a manager who has stood by him more than anyone else would.
I'm genuinely shocked at how bad it was, I thought he was a player who cared but obviously not. Add his name to the list of players that need to go

I posted the above after I saw Lamela's attempt at a tackle and block for Brighton's first goal and yea I'm big enough to admit I over reacted to a big mistake by him.
The main reason for my reaction was that him, Kane and Son always seemed to be the ones I could most rely on as I view them as "getting it" as in what it means to play for spurs and what fans expect from players isn't perfection but it is commitment and effort. When I saw the goal I couldn't believe that he of all players would do that in the 3rd min given all that had gone before it but I was wrong to question his commitment as he has shown in last 2 games (and for the rest of the Brighton game) that he continues to give us everything he has.

My bad Erik

Good on you Sidford. It stung me the same way at the time. It hit me with a feeling of dread, that if Lamela’s given up, Poch is stuffed. We are gone.

Really chuffed for Lamela, with his performances this season, 200 games up, and proud of Spurs for supporting him through a terrible run of injuries.

He did alright on Saturday but he could hardly have been worse and was good last night - but he is not good enough ultimately looks alright in the highlights but a player who we need to get rid off. Likeable bloke tries hard but makes awful decisions on the football pitch disappears u up blind alleys game after game - defensively a liability.

He has to be one of players we move on he has had his chance and he is not going to get any better

LOL serious?

Me encanta Coco Lamela!

I live here in Buenos Aires and the way he plays is very superliga. Head up, collected and loves a good tear up!

I'm surprised we didn't have a song for him. Or do we?

200 games in and his commitment never wavers, in all adversities he had faced in his career, injuries and personal life.

Many of us stood by him the day he joined and were always in pain hoping he can play the way we know he can. Surely we have come a long way seeing today's Erik Lamela. Is almost like we have been together with him through his journey in life as a Spurs, growing up and maturing, being a dad etc. Epecially following his instagram, one could easily see how grounded and normal like most of us this guy really is.

So so so proud of him making the 200th games for us TBVH. And congratulations on becoming the last one standing from the famous magnificent seven signings. (yes I know the Dane is still here, but he's fucking off right)

Mate, I don't think you quite get how the internet works, you're not supposed to back down, you need to double down when presented with evidence contrary to your opinion ?

Hopefully it will last. I feel like this is the deepest into a season he has gone for a long time.
