Moving Lamela on is overdue. He's been here a while and never really kicked on. His best season, 15/16 had 5 league goals and 9 assists. Decent stuff if he kept it up, not top notch, but decent. But he didn't keep it up, let alone get better. Outside some flashes of play in the last 4 seasons, he's been a non-entity, sometimes because of injury.

I doubt anyone is breaking down the door to get him. He's probably earning a bit more than he's worth so it won't be that easy to find a buyer. But hopefully he can find a good side and best of luck to him.

Until/if Ndombele gets fit, I would have Lamela in a two with Lo Celso in front of PEH, feeding our new wonderful front three. I genuinely believe he can play there (that's in my preferred 4-3-3).

If we're going to play 3-4-3, then he can come off the bench for Lo Celso, one of the defenders (if we switch to 4 at the back), or any of the front three if we need to shut up shop.

This is where we diverge. Lo Celso has always looked more comfortable at CM, and mainly played there including at Betis, it’s just that he was by far the best player in a mediocre attack there so even from CM he dominated their goals and assists. Only about 1/3 of his league matches that year were at AM.
well I dont who is going to be our number 10 then.

Im full on #CultOfLamela but honestly, it probably is time he leaves us. Especially with Bale coming back. Just unfortunate that we'd be losing our lone creative AM. We'd really have to sell Lucas as well and bring in a #10 if Lamela goes and just replace Lucas with Sessegnon under Bale's tutelage.

I love Lamela. I'd hate to see him leave. 30 minutes of his shithousery against tired legs is so useful as an option off the bench.
I’ve always been concerned about his injury record but this might reduce that, and he’s an absolute bastard to play against. He’d really put a shit in that could unsettle opponents because of his aggression alone.
Play Sessegnon instead of Lucas?
Really good shout. Sessegnon could learn a lot from Bale. Moura is just too inconsistent and would be easier to shift than Lamela

I don’t overly see the sense in shipping out Lamela unless we’ve identified a number 10 to take his place and compete with/ upgrade on Dele, or we plan to move Lo Celso into that role and are bringing in a new CM. Or, option 3, give Sessegnon a fighting chance to compete in the AM slots, but that feels unlikely.

Once you take the obvious CCV, Rose & Foyth out of the equation, we would still need to sell players, specifically a non HG one for squad registration purposes if we are looking at non HG strikers.

I would be happy for it to be Erik, great attitude but too injury prone. I also think with Bale and another Striker he will be too far down the pecking order to get any reasonable game time.

Really hope Roma's interest is true for both us and the player, he could have his own triumphant return.

"Oh my god, thank you so much for recognising I'm a good ITK source!!"

Virgin.

This in a picture sums up why there are so many wannabe ITK on twitter nowadays - bored kids looking for attention on the internet. Really is pathetic and that Spurs ITK aggregator account is encouraging it by giving absolutely any spanner on twitter a 'tier' rating.

Anyway, regarding Lamela - I could see us offering him around and Roma being interested, it doesn't take a genius to put 2 + 2 together.

Often derided and not in many peoples plans.

He may be off this window.

But once again Lamela showed up tonight looking as if he really cared about the game, the team and the Club. And again he was in the minority.

We will miss him in our squad. I love the bloke.
