least he had some intensity, son, eriksen and ali couldnt care less

Hes got that drive, that passion, that hardness that fighter mentality and he made a huge difference (along with Gio) today and if Aurier wasnt such a bell*nder at the end skying from 5 yards out he would had a great assist, driving forward and looking like he could make a change

He should be starting every game. He has drive and enthusiasm that is missing from the majority of our team.

Just wish he wasn't broken, would love him to be able to play more games. Never moaning at his team mates, constant death stares at the opponents and always showing for the ball trying to make things happen or chasing it down. Such a shame he isn't the first AM on the team sheet.

I wouldn’t be looking to sell him in January at all tbh. I’d imagine Morale is pretty low and I have no idea what Lamela is like in the changing rooms (oh err) but just purely on the pitch we can’t afford to ship out our most passionate, driven player regardless of what your opinion of him technically is.

I personally think he’s a very good player but even if I didn’t think he was I’d rather have 11 players like him as opposed to 11 players with bags of natural ability but have a shit attitude and/or is unmotivated.

We can reassess in the summer. If he gets injured again or we get a really good offer he’s happy with then fine but we’re in the shit at the minute and we need him.

I bet for sure if he has a season fully fit for us in the last few years, we could have win something. Not because he's that great, but his mentality - would have gotten us over the last hurdle....

Considering how many times he has physically been broken it's amazing his spirit isn't. He still goes charging around the pitch fighting for everything. He's also better then ever at shrugging players off. Always amazes me he isn't more nervous about getting injured and essentially playing likeEriksen when defending. Clearly loves the club and wants to win. He's not perfect, of course, but I think he's a credit to the club for his mentality alone aside from his footballing quality which can be divisive. For me tho, I have always been a fan.

And like clockwork we get all the positive comments after a good performance until next time he’s injured and then all of sudden he needs to be sold. This place ?

Annoying that he is injured so often but one of the better players of the season.

When fit, has to play.

We need intensity, effort and creativity. He is one of the few that brings all three.

Love the guy, he offers work rate and something different in terms of quality and creativity but just never fit for long enough.

Probably my favorite moment of this lackluster season so far is how Lamela stood up for Lo Celso after he got fouled today. That's the sort of attitude I want to see from our players in every match, always.

The only problem is his availability. When he's injured for such long spells people forget what he brings to us. We've got to find a way to keep him fit and available as he contributes a lot when playing.

I have said it before and I will say it again that when he is fit he is the heartbeat of the team and sets the tone and that tone is never say die .

I wish more of our players had his attitude. And i'm not talking about the aggressiveness to get the ball back.
Lamela usually tries to go forward whenever he receives the ball. The rest of our midfielders are scared and constantly pass back to the defenders. We must be the team with most passes back to the defenders
