@Shadydan is correct, the atmosphere was often flat especially during the 90s/00s. But yes in the last season or two, it was electric but that was partly sentimentality and because we were terrific. The feeling in the south stand lower when Kane scored the worldy against the scum and removed his mask will stay with me forever. We didn't win though. Spursy.

I don't love where I sit (north upper) in terms of atmosphere and the bell end count (me included?) but it's decent for a new stadium and when I was in the South lower for Olympiakos it was very good. I have had good nights already against City twice and seeing Son obliterate Burnley but I take your point it is hard to enjoy it when we are seeing poor results/performance.

Ultimately we had to move to be a viably top club and I believe Levy/the club has done a lot right to balance that need for revenue with keeping the old atmosphere/feeling.

I was referring to the last few seasons. Anyway it's just my opinion. It's like a library in the new stadium.

A representation of all things corporate, maximising revenue streams in as many different ways as possible.

You notify the stewards who intervene and/or notify the police and they arrest the culprit. You cannot whether it’s family or not jump into the crowd and attack and/or go for said person. In every day life if someone was abusive to a family member and you hit them when surrounded by multiple witnesses/cctv you would get charged with battery/ABH/GBH. It’s admirable what Dier did but it was also a massive no no and he will be heavily punished for it. I think we can safely say he won’t feature again once the FA has dealt with him.
Where did that happen ?

not sure how he gets a ban if there wasnt a physical confrontation. game was over hes allowed to leave the pitch.
There was some sort of physical element. He's definitely getting banned.

Although it would be amusing if our defence was "Leaving the pitch".

Depends where you sit I guess; I don't feel that.

Very well, the club motto is "to dare is to do".

On a serious note, I think that there were no punches because Dire wasn't abel to actually reach the guy he was after.

More than anything else, I was just really happy to see the hard bastard have a great game. Interceptions and blocks all game. Helped his defensive partners out a lot too. Worked his bollocks off.

I fucking love Eric Dier. For me he's our Jordan Henderson, in a mentality sense.

One thing that may make a difference is it was the FA not the Premier League who always have an eye to business so whatever ban he gets, and he will get one, may hopefully be lighter. It also happened after the game not during it like the Cantona attack. I guess we'd all feel like getting involved if someone was grieving our brother but there will be repercussions and you can't really argue with that. That said they'd be mugs to mix it with my brother at that age.?

Dier played really well last night and blocked almost everything. It’s very obvious that injuries and illnesses have taken its toll on him in the last year or 2 and central midfield isn’t the right place for him anymore, but yesterday showed he can still do a great job in defence. You don’t have to be fast in that position, especially if you have a quick player alongside you. You just have to know how to read a game, not bottle out of any challenges and give 100%. That’s what Dier offers.

He became my favourite player for a couple of years around the time we played Chelsea away the night we lost the league. He should’ve been sent off 12 times, including a not-so-subtle death threat to Fabregas as he was being subbed off. If everyone gave as much as Dier, we’d be ok. Dier and Lamela that game were the ultimate shithouses.

He was never quick but has now lost any pace he did have. He turns slower than a cruise ship and his long passes reach their target around 10% of the time. Yet he gives 100%, he goes all in on challenges, he offers fight and desire, he’s a leader, he can score the odd goal and he can read the game very well. Hopefully he’ll stay and fight for his place in defence, he seems very well liked and respected by team mates and he certainly seems like a player you want in your camp.

I’ll save judgement on what he did until we know the facts. But if it was someone having a go at his brother, then I’m fine with his response. That **** of a fan will hopefully think twice before ****ing off again if that was the case.

In conclusion: I hate Chelsea

Ive refused to take a girlfriend to a spurs match before because I couldn't justify the inevitable chanting about Wenger having Madeline mccann and general abuse she would hear.

I just accept it is standard because I've grown up going to matches, but it is actually cringeworthy to think how it looks when football fans start aggressively taking over town squares etc. England fans are by far the worst for it.

I took my then girlfriend and now wife to several games, but she got really put off when we played West Ham once, and that vile mob got escorted down the high road chanting their sick racism nonsense and trying to aggressively start on Spurs fans despite their police escort.

Quite apart from our own fans, I agree that so many football fans are ****s.

I've always been a big fan on Dier for exactly those reasons. Im a sucker for a bit of shithousery and will to win.

It's why I'm always willing him and Lamela to do well and cement a spot in the first team . They genuinely give a fuck.[/QUOTE]

I've been thinking for some time now he will be a great centre back under Jose. He just doesn't have the legs for midfield. With Jan leaving he'll be the ideal replacement at centre back. I thought he was excellent last night, he made some crucial tackles and blocks, scored a penalty and had a go at one of our fans. At least the lad has passion.

I hope I'm wrong but I honestly think he's potentially facing a Ginola Cantona-esque ban. Probably not to the full extent that Cantona received, but I'd be shocked if the FA didn't make an example out of him. There's simply no way that they can countenance players climbing into the stands to have a go at spectators. Unless there is some enormous mitigating circumstance approaching the level of the fan who abused Livermore on the basis of his dead child, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the ban were the rest of the season plus international duty over the summer.

Incredibly ironic that it comes just as he was finally being given a run in his natural position and beginning to thrive after years of being set up for failure by his managers selecting him in a role which doomed him to failure. The fucking luck this club has, over and over and over again, is just fucking unbelievable.

After the Hennessey case where he claim he didn't know what a nazi salute was and got off the hook, I'm all for going for something that dumb.
