You notify the stewards who intervene and/or notify the police and they arrest the culprit. You cannot whether it’s family or not jump into the crowd and attack and/or go for said person. In every day life if someone was abusive to a family member and you hit them when surrounded by multiple witnesses/cctv you would get charged with battery/ABH/GBH. It’s admirable what Dier did but it was also a massive no no and he will be heavily punished for it. I think we can safely say he won’t feature again once the FA has dealt with him.
So did Dier hit this person? Did he even intend to hit this person? Or was he bounding you the stairs to remonstrate and argue? We obviously don’t know, but unless it can be proven that Dier was either violent or intended to be violent, I don’t see anything other than a storm in a teacup.

That tackle on Ramos
The battle of the bridge
Telling gooners to be quiet
And giving a fan a slap for abusing his brother.

... Dier is a legend. ?

Why would you know how I would react, that's a pretty low comment. Trying to compare it to a random incident in the street which it isn't

I said you may not be not that you aren't, it would be interesting to know how others would react in that situation especially if they are put in that situation - it's all well and good people sitting their and casting judgement from behind their computer screens or sitting on their sofas but when it really comes down to it somehow I don't think you're keeping the same energy.

I just think that given the situation where he was obviously frustrated at the result you're going to react, some people might be shocked but players are human beings and we are all different and act differently in situations when it's confronted to us in the heat of the moment.

This is all rather unnecessary anyway, as if we need constant pages of extreme opinions...at the end of the day it's done now, he knows he shouldn't have reacted that way but for me it was perfectly understandable - I don't understand why people seemingly can't accept that and are happy to condemn him despite them not being in that situation themselves.

No point showing such fight after the game. Did that in my section and he’d have got switched off the fat entitled ****. Championship player

Dier’s built like a fucking a Tier One Operator and he’s going to get sparked by Barry and Colin the plasterers who live on a diet of one massive fry up and six cans a day.

I thought he had his best game in a long time for us yesterday. Ive said a few times I felt fitness wise he's a below average midfielder but above average in defence and felt it showed. Blocked pretty much everything coming his way. We have given Alderweireld a rest but be interesting to see what Jose decides going forward.

You can’t tell what happened in the commotion and whether there were punches thrown or not. You cannot under any circumstances do what he did. The FA have a zero tolerance to this and he will be punished accordingly.

Because this site is filled with model citizens who regularly give up their time to read with disadvantaged children, save kittens from burning buildings, and campaign against Simon Cowell. Just see the heroes laying into Troy Parrott for his penalty miss.

Or maybe these guys don’t rate Dier so are taking the opportunity to stick the knife in. I’d bet my life if it was Kane they’d be praising his courage and asking for him to be knighted.

Ah, the old conviction without evidence approach, bit of that old Salem 1692 justice there. Love it!

I have to say if I was Dier I'd have reacted the same way.

That's how I know he's made a huge mistake.

He is the sort of back to the wall, throw everything to stop a shot defender we don't have. Perhaps Davison to a degree.

Verts and Toby are more your cultured good on the ball continent type. And looked much more comfortable when we had 70% of possession.

I think he did good at CB. Can see him making it his own .

Yeah Im wondering how Dier will be when we control possesion after spending so long in midfield, in theory he should be better under pressure playing out from the back and also has a long ball of his own in his locker. I can see him being a good mix of Sanchez/Alder as you said. A very decent blend to have in your backline.
