Our bad run coincided with Dele Dier being out not fully fit, shoot me down Sanchez taken out for Toby Vertonghen partnership. Sissoko being a mainstay with Winks. I suppose there's many variable to pin point but for me we really need to look at the cb partnership Dier and Alli getting back fully fit and back intoi the team.

Best player on the pitch tonight, which isn't saying much but encouraging to see from him. Please start him on Sunday.

Good to see him back. Needs to play DM. Don’t ask him to play the ball. Just be a spoiler and cover the defence. Watch us be a better team.

His forward passing was excellent and a refreshing change from some of the play we’ve seen from our midfielders this season.

If we go back three, which 'might' be worth experimenting in a post Eriksen world, particularly if we insist on a Winks - Sissoko partnership. He should be put right in the centre of that duo. Like where he used to play. If we go 4-3-3 (also without Eriksen). Play him as the enforcer. For me he could really change us.

So he can play the whole game against colchester but couldnt get on before wanyama in the leicester game. We need him in front of the back 4.

Needs to be back in the team in a 4-2-3-1 so we have someone in midfield to shield the defence and kick shit out of opponents.

I think Winks and NDombele sat just in front of Dier could be an option. He needs them both available for a pass at all times.

Until last season, I always presumed Dier would step up as a leader of this team. Would love to know what happened to him, cos he basically missed a whole season.

For me we really need to go back to basics, back to 4231 where we were always at our best,

Dier or Wanyama with Dembélé gave cover to the back 4 and quick transition.
The Winks/Sissoko partnership does not cover back 4 and offers very slow transition, allowing opposition time to reset.

Dier, with either Tanguy or Moussa would be that 2, with GLC being an option in the 3 behind Kane

The amount of goal's we are conceding especially away from home ses we need to change something defensively, Dier (DM) with his aggression, nous and leadership might add some solidity.

He had a horrible season health wise - appendicitis amongst other things

The problem with 4231 is that it revovles around Eriksen, and Eriksen is on the way out. IMO we won't bring in a comparable player (and Lo Celso is a CM for me), so we therefore have to adopt a different system. With the depth we now have in CM and the (hopefully) far greater creativity from deeper, I can see us moving to 433 with Dier in the middle but dropping into a back 3 when we're attacking. It's tailor made for Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Ndombele.
