Oh man, I want us to sign Sölankeres, he honestly sounds awesome.

I quite like Solanke to be fair, he’d fit in really well. I think he has good feet, excellent in the air, moves well, presses really well. I think it’s the price tag for a 26 year old from Bournemouth that’s putting people off, but he was always really talented just had a really odd career progression and so his name has been tainted a bit.

I’ve scouted him for years. Even wrote to the club about him when he was 5. Proper elite. Could also be 6 or 8 or even false 9. Get him in I say. 😂

Strong presser. Good pace, strong in the air and solid technique. Can hold up and be a threat in behind. I wouldn't be against it at all to be honest.

The Watkins shout from @WiganSpur is a very good one. Could potentially explode in a more competitive team. Was a youth star with big potential, winning a world cup with England U18s I believe. He just lost his way a bit and took a while to crack PL football. Scoring 19 in a season for a bottom half Bournemouth side is a great return really.

Think we could do better at £65m, but Romano wasn't saying it was a release clause or bust situation.

No comparison with him and watkins in terms of scoring goals and only two years difference in age.

Maybe he would suit our team with high pressing, hold up play etc but he’s not exactly a prolific goal scorer. Don’t really get excited by this transfer tbh.
would prefer to get Eze, a RW and stick with richy and players we have in the squad.

I do not believe Arsenal have a better striker within their team, no.

Playing havertz as a false 9 seems to suit them, maybe playing Kulu could give us similar success but we need clinical wingers & Number 10 in my opinion.

Richarlison's numbers last year per/90 were better than Jesus or Havertz.

We have a better striker - but only when fit - which is the issue.

i was meant to include richy to be fair and was saying to use Kulu as an alternative strikerlse 9.

But on the point of richy I don’t think he’s consistent(even when fit) enough to be a top striker for us.

if it’s about money, I’d prefer Eze for son/Maddison positions & a RW. Not point signing average players for the sake of it, we’ve seen how hard it is to get them off the books recently.

Cast off by Chelsea and Liverpool, out of the England picture since 2017, but suddenly Solanke is the best thing since sliced bread.... Right. This bandwagon is taking off - but without me on board this time.
The only thing the pursuit of Solanke shows is the utter, utter failure of our transfer policy.
Weird post is weird

Solanke IMO is undoubtedly a better no.9 than anyone in our squad.

If we had the funds I'd say go for it.

But as with others in here I'd be worried if we spend too much of our budget on him when other areas are probably more key.

But the way people are dismissing Solanke is a bit daft.

I think a striker is the most important signing we should be making

You seriously think he gets into any of the top 4 sides?

I get we need a system, but that will only take you so far. The top teams also have a system. But their system is made up of better quality players.
I don't think "he gets into" a top 4 side right now because he doesn't play for a top 4 side.

He think he could do a good job for us, given our requirements

I understand that view entirely

For me the midfield was a bigger issue last season but having a consistent striker would at least give us some certainty over how we play

So they've lined up candidates to replace him (Archer at Villa is one of them apparently) should we pull the trigger

I think we'll be very relunctant to meet the release clause, but this is on the back burner until we get more developments on the other two.

Sounds like Bournemouth chairman wants us to meet that release clause though lol

We have no creativity when Maddison doesn’t play/underperforming. I think 10 & RW is more needed.

We have richy, son, Kulu, Lankshear who can play there.

I agree and have said this throughout, but only if it's a significant upgrade. I don't think Solanke is a significant upgrade and I don't want to be spending 60mil just for the sake of spending it.

Fully agree with this. If we spend 60 million and it's only a slight upgrade on Richy it's not worth the money. I'd rather wait for the right one to become available and give lankshear an opportunity

Did it not end amicably then?!
