Solanke would be a great fit. Fantastic presser, good at finishing, pacey enough, strong, good in the air. Far more goals from open play than Toney, seems like a nice kid, worked hard against some setbacks in his career. We don't need a Kane replacement in this system. We need a strong, powerful poacher. Get Solanke, then some wingers.

Too many people judging the fact he's not a star name tbh, does he fit this system perfectly? Absolutely, with the chances this system creates he's expected to press and press hard, and be in the box to tap in low crosses, possessing enough pace that if we breach the line he can take advantage of it. It really isn't a hard concept to grasp and if the price is right it makes a lot of sense

Solanke would make us exponentially better - he is a physical specimen, very mobile, good link up play and presses from the front. Finishing could be improved but it’s something he has got better at year on year thus far. People turning their noses up at him, but drooling over Gyokeres makes zero sense to me - I think people assume Gyokeres is younger but they’re the same age. And it’s not as if 26 is old!!

Cast off by Chelsea and Liverpool, out of the England picture since 2017, but suddenly Solanke is the best thing since sliced bread.... Right. This bandwagon is taking off - but without me on board this time.
The only thing the pursuit of Solanke shows is the utter, utter failure of our transfer policy.

Hated the idea at first but the idea of Solanke up top is really growing on me...

Agree on that. Richy obviously can’t be relied on. We took him all the way to Asia and he didn’t play a second.

If Solanke is who we want, we’ve got the money, just go and get him done. We’ve seen how we can move quickly if we want to. Maybe we need someone else to bid for him to get us moving! 😂

Who do you recommend? Maybe that Chelsea cast off Kevin De Bruyne or Mo Salah?

I would love Solanke or Gyökeres in a Spurs shirt. They are strong, got decent pace and are good at pressning. They would offer something to the team even if they don't score. I would prefer Gyökeres, but I don't think we will pay the amount of money that Sporting wants for him.

There are a lot of reasons not to want Solanke, starting with ‘Chelsea know what they’re doing in the market’ was a bad choice.

I can picture it now, everyone comes round to Solanke but the deal falls through and we end up with nothing up top. It is the story of Tottenham.

We're trying to over take the teams ahead of us by buying players that aren't good enough for the teams ahead of us. 🤦
It's about building a system that works and putting the correct players within it, with the greatest of respect I think this kind of comment shows why we aren't managers and are just fans

You seriously think he gets into any of the top 4 sides?

I get we need a system, but that will only take you so far. The top teams also have a system. But their system is made up of better quality players.

I do not believe Arsenal have a better striker within their team, no.

Certain players in certain teams won't work but thrive in another team. You could throw all the world's best players together, and they don't work.

Put in 11 players who arnt as skillful but play at 100%, fit the system of how to play and play as a team, and I bet you those players win most times than not!

Would get into Liverpool and Arse

the other 2 have Haaland and Watkins (who didn't even outscore Solanke by much last year)

Would you rather have Nunez or Solanke? Honest question. For me it would be a close decision.
Same for Havertz and Solanke.

He may not be Harry Kane but he isn't far off/is the same as 2 of the teams above us and considering he actually plays a lot of games
