Micky Hazard posted this tonight on Facebook. I wish all our players could see it:

Message to the Our Players
We are in the 2025 Europa Cup Final — and for many of you, this might be your only chance to play in a European final. I only played in one myself, and not long after, English clubs were banned from Europe for five years. So trust me when I say: don’t take this moment for granted.
To the younger lads especially — every game from now on is your chance to earn a place in that final. Be the best player on the pitch, make it impossible for the manager to leave you out. In 1984, five of our regulars — Hoddle, Ardiles, Perryman, Clemence, and Crooks — missed the final. The manager was left with no option but to pick the players who were in form, make sure that it is you in the best form.
Today’s performance wasn’t good enough given what’s at stake. You’ve got a few games left — give it everything, Score goals, fight for every ball, and show you deserve to be there in the final. You’ll never regret it if you are. It will be one of the greatest days of your footballing life.
Best of luck — may the best players and hardest workers win the battle for places. Don’t let this chance pass you by, it might only happen once. COYS
this is perfect, this is why it means more to us as a fanbase and hopefully the players do what they need to do

He was the best player on the pitch for us in quite a few games and then basically got dumped out of the team as soon as the injured players returned. I can't imagine that's going to be great from a motivational point of view.
probably know that no matter how good he plays he won't be starting in the final. so why bother putting effort in a meaningless game (not meaningless to the fans of course)

Poor mentality to have. Should be fighting to be the starter. Hopefully winning the Europa helps him grow and learn.

Epic player when on it and should grow to be a starter.

I'm interested to see how Frank views Spence - a player who many in here love but who personally I still think there are some question marks about. He had that really great purple patch in the middle of last season but other than that I remain unconvinced about how good he actually is, or if he is able to sustain those sorts of levels over a long period of time.

I think he's doing that. He got his chance and he more than proved himself. Should have remained first choice LB imo.
He proved himself in bursts yes but I think he faded badly towards the end of the season. I also think U'dogie is the superior player and is also 2 years younger. I do think Spence is much more effective on the left though generally.

He definitely faded, whether that was down to him or the manager, who knows. I'm not convinced that Udogie is superior as when Djed is good, he's very very good but consistency will be key.

His versatility to play both LB and RB to a high standard make him valuable to us, but for some reason I wouldn't be shocked if we decided to sell while his stock is high.

Like Djed's redemption story.

Like that he signed a new contract even before he fully hit his stride here after numerous loans.

Really like that he is competent at both RB and LB and therefore should see him get plenty of playing time next season.

He was MOTM away at Brentford last season - so Frank would have seen what he is capable of at his best.

Not sure he faded us such but just playing in a weakened team not playing well in the league. Similar to Gray in midfield they would do far better with the best players around them.

Still think he should have started even more games last season - on either side.
Hard to say for sure. He showed quite a bit of inconsistency towards the later end of the season, so its possible he was showing that inconsistency in training - making it harder for coaches to trust his performance.
