If Spence continues to apply himself he could easily become the best full back in the Premier League. I don’t think that’s an overstatement at all. Is there anything he hasn’t got in his locker? He is basically Kyle Walker with a better brain and technique from what I am watching of him.

TBF, that isn't difficult..

I'm loving Spence however I feel people are overlooking some of the crossing and forward passes that Porro makes every game. We'd miss that, however he could do with a rest now and again.

I have to say, I've been quite vocal about my disliking of what is perceived to be his bad attitude! However, I'm incredibly impressed in how he's knuckles down, and got on with 'it'. His performances have been quality, regardless where he's played, left, right, middle! Given he's played in a centre back pairing with an 18 year old at times!

If these quotes are true, then i like him more and more. He played some superb crossfield passes today.

I don't buy this "attitude" thing. Johnson and Porro showed far worse attitude on the pitch yesterday

On current form he is the best full-back at the club. And especially with VdV out then having someone with his pace for recovery and for driving the ball out of defence makes him one of our most important players at the moment.

It'll probably be years before we know what was going on behind the scenes with him, when players have retired and start telling stories on podcasts. No idea if it's down to Ange being firm with him that he sorted his attitude out or whether he was always a baller and just rubbed people up the wrong way - but I'm glad we're finally seeing the best of him.

Another good performance. Is he a better CD than fullback ? Impressive in both positions.

Porro better going forward, but Spence is so much better defensively. Porro's lapses have become worse without the main CBs, whereas Spence actually covers for them. With some rest, Porro will hopefully get back to his best, but surely Djed has earned the spot?

England seemed blessed with RBs a while ago.
Now James - injury prone.
Walker - OTT
Trippier - OTT
TAA - obviously class.

I really rate Spence highly. Maybe a late bloomer and a possible England squad member.

Unfortunately for him, Wan-Bissaka, Lewis and Livramento are probably ahead of him when it comes to international call-ups.

Wan-Bissaka is 27 and has never played for England despite being a Man Utd player for 5 years. His attacking play is quite poor.

England seem to be short of left backs too. Maybe there is an opportunity for Spence as he is versatile.

Annoying that it appears we were willing to cut our loses with Spence in the summer window. We all saw in pre season that he had talent but we have to wait until a major injury crisis to see him.

2 ways to looks at it. Ange dropped the ball and got lucky following an injury crisis or Dropping Spence from the Europa squad and not playing him inspired him to work harder.

Either way he's been great in all positions so far, I'm certainly keen to see him at RB in our strongest XI

Which is exactly what Ange said happened, and commended him for getting his head down and working hard.
