If reguilon and spence are not going to play in the PL then why did the club register them? Why didn't they register them in the europa league squad and not register porro and udogie so that there's a proper rotation?

We have 4 players for 2 postions in 2 competitions but the same 2 players play every week

I'll assume it is attitude related as every manager has seemed not to fancy Spence and it can't be ability as the lad is handy.
Why extend his contract then? Fair enough if he is acting up behind the scenes but I would be very surprised if we decided to extend his contract if he was.

Yea true and his contract was already to 2027 so very strange decision as we didn't do it to try and protect his value.

And the thing Spence looks a real player.

He should of started yesterday let alone not even getting on.

I've got a sneaky suspicion we might see him against Tamworth, but don't tell him yet and get his hopes up.

If he doesn’t start against Bournemouth then not even god knows what he’s doing here

I think the reason probably boils down to Archie Grays ceiling, he is clearly going to be a top top player but i must say i don't think that will be at fullback.

Porro and Udogie are out on their feet and Spence deserves a go based on his limited performances so far under Ange whether that is at right back or left.
Gray will never be a top quality full back and you wouldn’t be paying 40m for a young talented FB, his future is midfield and Spence’s future is RB. Small samples to judge by but Spence looks a much better bet at FB

Why give him a new contract and "reintegrate" him to the team if he's going to get the same amount of game time he got under conte? It seems completely pointless.

I wonder if he's regressed again. He clearly came back from his loan with a different attitude but I wonder if he's gone back to old bad habits or whether there's some underlying injury issues?

None of us know what's happening with Spence but the possibilities from what I can see are as follows:

1. Ange doesn't fancy Spence and club gave him a new contract to hold his value for sale in summer
2. Ange was impressed by him from start of season and agreed to him getting new contract but since then Spence's attitude has changed and he has been unimpressive in training
3. Spence is carrying an injury and is not fit

Not sure which option I'd say is most likely but I'm hoping it's number 3.

I think if it was 3. we would have been told?

Surely we wouldn't have given him a contract in that case. Unless it's since then but he wasn't getting game time before he signed it either.

Taking a pretty prominent role in a bit of social media here, doubt that happens if he's being mardy or otherwise not still in the club's plans:
