There were other top clubs interested in him. We are the best team in the prem who plays wing backs and don’t have a top RWB at the club.

Thing is Spence, Emerson and Doherty all bring something different to the table. Emerson is good if you play compact defensive football when you're pinned back. Doherty is good at making inside runs and good in the air. Spence also has the height but not sure of his aerial ability , he does offer flat out pace on the outside though. The only thing missing is great crossing which Perisic gives on the left, but we will often pull balls back and slide strikers in.

Dortmund were definitely after him, and they're a pretty good spotter on young, English talent, considering the development of Sancho and Bellingham

Some great reviews of him in the replies by forest fans. Worth a read through. Some concerned about him in the final third though ?
The funny thing is I think Lo Celso is really good at this, if you watch his Betis highlights he almost made Firpo's career with the number of times he slipped him through.

all 3 Rb could stay as doc can play lb as well club still assessing best soloutions and if adequate offers come for Emerson and doc.

I think we need 5 WBs minimum for the new season to cope with the workload and injuries. Think we'll sub both WBs in most games.

Would really like us to keep Doherty. Came into his own at the backend of last season, experienced, can play on either side, and he's clearly popular in the dressing room as well. Would be silly to let him go unless it's too good to turn down.
