I guess another thing we don’t really consider is that he regularly plays with Maddison down that left channel who offers next to zero support. It wasn’t really surprising he looked more comfortable with Sarr in the LCM position.

Regardless he was excellent the second half and after a few iffy performances he certainly looked more like the Udogie we know. Good to see.

I think he was far from excellent defensively in the second half, but because he didn't cost us a goal it'll be easy forgotten about.

He makes mistakes, but he offers so much to us as a team.

He's still young, and learning. Ive not seen a young fullback as good as this. Kyle walker was riddled with mistakes at this age.

It's important to remember he's still 21 (22 in November) has a lot to learn and will go through periods of poor form. I would be a little concerned with how easy players are getting past him, especially in the box. I don't recall that happening as often last season?

So you're saying he's 21 until he's 22?

I realize this is pretty standard now - but we really should stop looking to nitpick our players performances - particularly after a good team win - when everyone contributed.

Not every match needs a scapegoat.

Thought he was hung out to dry a bit today Son, Maddison, Werner and Sarr all at various points watched him push up and let men run past/off them without really offering any tracking which in turn drew Micky out of position.

Was a lot of poor tracking back today on both flanks.

Still the positives for Destiny massively outweigh the (perceived) negatives for me...

I remember Walker constantly getting criticised for his “brain farts” from Bus Conductor.

Not signing proper cover for Udogie was the worst thing about this summer by a long way. I can't tell if it's complacency or fatigue that is his issue at the moment, but he's been off it all season and was frankly awful today. Ran in to trouble all match and felt like every pass was to a Palace player.

He's young with bags of potential and I'm not worried about him long term at all, but we can't be playing him every minute of every game on current form. It's not good for him or the team.

Been giving the ball away and making stupid fouls all season and stretching into last season as well.

He’s being heavily overplayed. Shouldn’t have started our last 4 games and played the full 90 in 3 of them (played 88 mins against West Ham) . FB is the most physically demanding position for in our system. Little wonder he isn’t on top form.

I’m sure some are sick of hearing about it but our ridiculous summer window strikes again. Mickey injured and Destiny knackered.

sticky this. When he’s fully rested he’s indomitable, but it’s physically impossible for him to be at 100% every game with how much he is being flogged by ange - but I blame shit fucking ENIC and levy for leaving us short on his backup, less so ange for using him when he’s not got suitable backup.

FUCK OFF ENIC

Alternatively, he's young and so will be inconsistent?
