Yeah I’d have preferred he took 3, but does seem 13 was his lucky number so lad he got number he wanted.

Better than 38 as well as prefer the players to be numbered between 1 - 25 if possible.

He comes across so well, I remember last season he did an interview and he sounded like 30yo, really level headed guy.

It seems we have a squad of quality characters, they are all so humble. Donley was saying something the other day about learning from the coaches and trying to improve himself.

This seems like a regular thing in our squad now, it seems straight forward, but this mentality was quite rare in the past. I can't think of a single player who thinks they've made it in our squad, they all seem to be putting in the miles.

It's talked about a lot, but it's the mentality of a youngster which is the defining trait that decides how their career goes. The coaching setup throughout our club, really is elite.

We expecting him back for Leicester, or nah?
Not sure when this interview was done but it was published on the spurs app today.

“We've still got two weeks (until the first game of the season). We'll get some players back this week - obviously the internationals will be back, Destiny (Udogie) is back training with us, Richarlison should be back in the week - so we'll get some of our top end players back into the group which I think will help”

Really need a suitable back-up to Udogie signed this summer or even someone the same or better to take our overall squad quality forwards as it’s such a key and unique position in Ange’s tactics.

Reckon we will just keep Spence as backup? Can obviously play VDV there too.
Have to agree with OP, playing Spence at LB or VdV, significantly weakens the team. Spence RB, no problem, VdV or Spence for 20/30mins in a match no problem, but as regular rotation for Udogie , nope (imo)

Most squads makes compromises somewhere...
True but not in such key specialist positions and if you want to play in Europe and challenge in all competitions. Also if top teams do make compromises it’s because the rest of their squad is so strong they can afford a few ‘compromises’, ours isn’t and so we can’t, imo.

I think Destiny has been awful in our 2 away matches. The number of completely unnecessary free kicks he gives away are ridiculous, especially bearing in mind our set piece weakness. He was roasted in the second half by an average winger against Leicester and was nowhere to be seen yesterday for the 2nd goal. And going forward he has offered very little. He was ok against Everton but we all know how good they are.
I know he is still young and learning and that he came into the season lacking matches but the only cover we have for him is Spence playing on the wrong flank or moving VDV .Reality is whoever we play at full back is going to be exposed time after time and the physical demands of playing there make injuries extremely likely. Not getting in cover on that side was a mistake ( amongst others in the window. ) Davies certainly is no longer an option there.
if we were playing a 3-5-2 Odogie and Porro would be great there. Not to mention Son being much more comfortable in a front two.
